I made this basket twice using different yarns. First was the Hobbii ribbon. I made the large size with an I hoook and just one skein. I love how it turned out. However, I came up just a little short. I couldn't do the slip stitch row at the end before running out of yarn. The basket is still sturdy though. I also made one using a raffia yarn, and it turned out great as well. I love the texture made by the spike stitches (called long sc in this pattern).

This is a very cute basket pattern. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow definitely beginner friendly! I did make this with Hobbii ribbon yarn and it makes a sturdy basket.
