Altenkirchen - Shawl
Large, soft shawl
Altenkirchen is an exquisite, large shawl. It’s perfect for colder days where all you want to do is wrap yourself up completely - or as a replacement jacket, when you need something light to keep out the cold air.
The shawl is knit by shifting between Winter Glow and a mix of Friends Extra Fine Merino and Friends Kid Silk. It makes for a soft, exciting shawl that’s also fun to knit.

Easy mindless knit great for taking with you or listening to a pod cast. It does feel like a long time till it is completed. I choose yellow base with navy with acrylic yarn, requested by my mom. I haven't yet but am thinking about doing an i-cord edge, will put a photo of it before the edge. I also did not make it the full 260 stitch rows, I felt it was a nice size at 85 inches.

Made this shawl after I had foot surgery. It is an easy shawl to make. Designer has wonderful instructions, even telling you how many stitches you have after each change. I did make a few changes to make it mine. Loved the color and yarn the designer chose. Wish I could show you my picture.
