Tencel Bamboo Double is a delicate and soft yarn, with a silky sheen.
The yarn is amazingly delicious, and feels beautiful in the hands, whilst knitting or crocheting.
In addition, the yarn is strong and holds its shape.

Tencel Bamboo Double consists of 9 threads that each consist of 2 threads - which means a total of 18 threads. It can be compared to its even finer ‘sister yarn’, Tencel Bamboo Fine, which consists of a total of 12 threads.

Info on the material ‘Tencel’:

What is it?
Tencel is an ecologically sustainable organic material, made from wood chips primarily from beech and eucalyptus trees. The trees are FSC certified and the wood chips originate from the natural thinning of forests and as byproducts of other timber production.

Tencel is the most sustainable material made under excellent environmental considerations.

Tencel’s uniqueness.
The fibers’ composition from beech and eucalyptus make the Tencel material really comfortable against the skin. The fiber’s smooth structure makes the yarn softer than silk and smoother for the skin than wool and cotton and is also super absorbent.

The thread can be more loosely spun in some places than others, which is a natural part of the thread’s character. The finished result is so lovely.

Children will love the Tencel Bamboo yarn!
It would be difficult to find another yarn so gentle and soft against the skin as the Tencel Bamboo yarn - Children will definitely be delighted with the feeling against the skin.

This is the most soft and delightful yarn I ever crochet with. I made an asymmetrical shawl using a 3.5 mm hook. It’s shiny and so soft against the skin with a great drape.
Another shawl made with the ‘fine’ version of it is so delicate and lovely, too.I worked it with a 2.75 mm hook.
The yarn splits but after a few rows I got the hang of how to adjust my technique , so it wasn’t a big problem.
I’m off to buy more of it right now.

A little finicky on initial use, but after a few stitches, the yarn worked up very nicely for the item I was making. The pattern I used was elegant in its simplicity, but using this yarn took it up several levels into glamorous: silky and smooth, blocks well, and is lightweight but also surprisingly warm when the item is folded. (Not revealing what I made because it's a Christmas present).

I absolutely love this yarn. It is one of the best yarns I have ever used. I have tried other bamboo blends but this one is truly the best. Please keep it one your shelves. This one I will continue to buy. Ooh. And the finish is beautiful. See you guys when I am looking to do another project or just to have it in my craft room for just in case.

The colors in the pictures do not do this yarn justice. When I got my hunting green and blue Tencel bamboo, I could not believe how beautifully vibrant these colors were. IT has a sheen from the Tencel that almost makes it look like the dye is still wet. It is beautifully smooth and soft with great stitch definition and very light.

I love this yarn and have made a blanket with lace edge. My daughter is living on Thursday Island (an island off the tip of Austrlia) where it is very hot. This yarn is soft but not as hot or bulky as wool. It is so soft and delicate. Something to pass down the line. A photo is in photo gallery.
