Tencel Bamboo Fine is a delicate and soft yarn, with a silky sheen.
The yarn is amazingly delicious, and feels beautiful in the hands, whilst knitting or crocheting.
In addition, the yarn is strong and holds its shape.
Tencel Bamboo Fine consists of 6 threads each consisting of 2 threads - which means a total of 12 threads. It can be compared to its slightly thicker ‘sister yarn’, Tencel Bamboo Double, which consists of a total of 18 threads.
Info on the material ‘Tencel’:
What is it?
Tencel is an ecologically sustainable organic material, made from wood chips primarily from beech and eucalyptus trees. The trees are FSC certified and the wood chips originate from the natural thinning of forests and as byproducts of other timber production.
Tencel is the most sustainable material made under excellent environmental considerations.
Tencel’s uniqueness.
The fibers’ composition from beech and eucalyptus make the Tencel material comfortable against the skin. The fiber’s smooth structure makes the yarn softer than silk and smoother for the skin than wool and cotton and is also super absorbent.
The thread can be more loosely spun in some places than others, which is a natural part of the thread’s character. The finished result is so lovely.
Children will love the Tencel Bamboo yarn!
It would be difficult to find another yarn so gentle and soft against the skin as the Tencel Bamboo yarn - Children will definitely be delighted with the feeling against the skin.

I crocheted my wedding dress with Tencel Bamboo Fine. It’s so silky, it can be a challenge to get the right tension, and I struggled with splitting the yarn in the beginning. I used a 2.5mm hook for it. I cannot recommend this yarn enough! The drape/flow of the fabric is divine!
-Some balls have the ugliest factory knots. A few balls had no knots, but at least two balls had more than 6. Because the yarn is so slippery and silky, you CANNOT trust factory knots. I cut and used a magic knot, but I’m not convinced even my knots will hold up for extended use/washes.

I was intimidated by this yarn when I started working with it, because it is so very slick. However, the feel is amazing, so I kept working with it until I got the right crochet hook (my 4mm inline hook) and my tension right (winding around and through my fingers), and once you get that just right, it glides so smoothly and works up very quickly and easily! I am making a shawl at the moment, but plan to buy more of this to make a summer sweater, as it has a truly lovely feel, and will be a nice, cool addition to my summer wardrobe.

It is SO SOFT and feels like silk. I'm making a baby dress with it. It has a good amount of stretch/spring to it. It does split a little when working with it, and because of the stretch it's a little hard to keep my tension consistent, but that's probably because I'm relatively new to working with tencel. It has a lovely sheen to it and the colors are absolutely gorgeous. I bought the rose, vintage rose and light rose. Both the rose and vintage rose have a slight purple/blue hue to it, where the light rose is much more pink.

Since Prism yarns - Delicato was not distributed (nor manufactured) anymore I was on the search for what seemed the "holy grail" i.e. Tencell yarn. I was sooooo happy to find the Tencel/Bamboo yarn at Hobbii. When it arrived I promptly decided to order some more. It feels like pure luxury, knits lovely and drapes fluidly.
You made my day...no, you made my future addiction if you keep on producing this yarn.

I use it for toes and heals, the green goes very well with my other sock yarn. It is a little slippy, so I dont use it for cuffs.
I would not recommend for new knitters could be hard to get the tension correct with the amount of silky softness it has, i need to finger wrap it a few extra times to keep my tension.
I may purchase again time will tell how it holds up to wearing on the heal.
