Pro tip: Before you start working on the Sultan cake, run all 4 treads through a small bead to help the threads stay together throughout the project.

The colors sparked my interest - I was curious as to how it would play out. I purchased several of the Sultan and Pastello varieties. As I crocheted the Virus Stitch triangle shawl, I was enthralled with the long, slow, gradient change of color and I am deeply in love with this yarn! The yarn alone makes a statement and no matter what pattern of shawl or poncho that I stitch with it, it never takes a back seat! In fact, the beautiful color gradient enhances the pattern and creates a show-stopper of a piece. I've been stopped in stores by women wanting to know where I bought the shawl or poncho and they were amazed when I told them that I had crocheted it and that it was NOT store bought. If you've been curious about this yarn, I urge you to give it a try. The cotton warms as it is worked and worn and becomes quite soft with a gorgeous drape: I used a 5.5mm hook for both the shawl & poncho. You owe it to yourself to give this beauty a try. Happy Creating!

This yarn makes projects look great. Sometimes is difficult to work with since it's 4 strands together. Once I got the hang of it, I found that I enjoyed it and the look that it gave. I have now completed two projects (summer dresses for my 2 year old granddaughter). They are so light and airy and produce fun, flowy dresses. I used Rubellitte (48) for one and Poppy (50) for the other. Both dresses are posted under the Photo Gallery. One was the Tameka toddler dress (found on Ravelry) in Poppy and the other was the Nina dress that's available on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nina-dress-2) and on Hobbii (https://hobbii.com/nina-dress). I read about using a bead or a shank type button on the strands to help hold them together while you knit which I tried on the second project. It definitely helped. I would recommend that for those that may be beginner knitters.

I've completed more projects with this yarn in the past year than any other and I don't think I'll be stopping anytime soon. The colors are always beyond gorgeous, even my best monitor resolution never does them justice. I've only had one incident where the gradient in 1 of 4 cakes of Rainbow Pyrite didn't match up, but I'm stubborn and don't mind wrestling with yarn, and this was the only issue I've ever had with the yarn out of nearly 15 cakes I've ordered now. Considering the dozens of factory knots and wonky dye lots I've dealt with from other yarn retailers, this was a walk in the park. You definitely need to be patient working with the yarn since it's comprised of 4 separate strands, but it's very much worth the effort. I cannot give this yarn enough love, you gotta get some sultan <3

This was the first yarn I bought from Hobbii, I'm currently still working on a hexagon crochet cardigan with it, using one cake for either side, with a 5 mm hook, and it is an incredibly lovely texture. The yarn not being plied has a tiny bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of working with it, it makes an incredibly soft fabric. The color changes are exactly as advertised- Incredibly smooth. I'm a outside puller of yarn, but I noticed that this yarn has a paper tab to help locate the center for a good center pull, and while I don't use that, I know that center-pulling is something a lot of people do, and I think it's a really thoughtful detail. I definitely see myself buying more of this yarn in the future. I totally recommend :)

This was my very first Hobbii yarn. Generally I use thicker yarns and I have never used a yarn with individual strands before. I was a bit nervous.
I bought Sultan because of the amazing colors. Seeing them in real life, the colors are even better than online! My second thought after the color is that I absolutely love that there is a handy little sticker so you can easily find the center of the yarn. Now that I have used the yarn, it is not as intimidating as I had thought. It took a few stitches to get the hang of the individual strands but it really is not difficult to crochet. I love how soft and drapey this baby blanket is working up. It will be the perfect weight for an August baby!
I see many more skeins of Sultan in my future!
