Sultan Deluxe Shine is the glamorous version of Sultan Deluxe. Here, you get the same fabulous cake yarn made from soft cotton, but the beautiful colors and color changes are now accompanied by a fine, thin glitter thread.

Sultan Deluxe Shine is incredible to work with. Like many other cake yarns, the yarn consists of four thin cotton strands, but here the yarn is lightly twined. It makes it noticeably easier to pick up all four strands when you crochet or knit.

The characteristic color changes develop gradually over the running length of 1000 meters (1093 yd). The colors only change one strand at a time, which makes for long, gradual color changes. It creates the most beautiful plays of color that are now accompanied by a bit of bling from the glitter thread.

Of course, you can crochet as well as knit with Sultan Deluxe Shine. However, you should note that you generally use less yarn for knitting than crochet, so you may end up with leftover yarn if you, for example, choose to knit a shawl. It’s not usually a problem, but it’s a good idea to start with the color that you want to be the dominant color in the shawl.

Sultan Deluxe Shine is incredibly well-suited for shawls and scarves where you want to put extra focus on the colorways. However, the yarn is also really pretty when used for tops, blouses, or tunics that get a dip-dye effect when gradual color changes appear.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I have used other cake yarn with gradients that are very expensive but Hobbii has them beat by far. Not only is the price better but the quality matches or exceeds them. The colors are sumptuous and so luscious! The yarn is smooth and glides through. Other cheaper yarns I tried had the clumpy knots but not Hobbii. A classy and high class yarn and terrific yarn company. I live in the US and they manage to get the yarn to me faster than most of the US companies do when I order. Kudu to Hobbii! I love the yarn and the company. If you are looking for gradient yarns try theirs and this one in particular is super nice with a sparkle!

I bought a cake of this yarn a while ago. I struggled to find a pattern I was willing to go with it.

I finally found a shirt pattern. This yarn worked up better than I could have ever hoped it would! It's a bit heavier than I expected, since I've used other Sultan Deluxe yarn. That's probably the sparkle that runs through it. It agonist makes me feel like I'm wearing really pretty, soft chain mail.

The yarn worked up easily with very minimal trouble and is so soft and cuddly, unlike some other brands of sparkle yarn I've used in the past.

I really wish I had more money so I could buy so much more of it!

this yarn is absolutely gorgeous. The base yarn is super soft cotton with a gorgeous drape, and the sparkle yarn is amazing and not scratchy at all. It's great for lightweight clothing. It's a large cake too, so you could make a whole adult shawl with 1 cake. The Oppenheimer Blue(27) colorway is absolutely stunning and sophisticated, I'm in love!

my only "problem" with it is how tiny the yarn is, it's on the small side for a sport weight. I'm making a short dress with in, and so far the results are gorgeous, but it's going to be a very long project

This is the most beautiful yarn I have ever used! Like most reviews state, it can be a little hard to with with due to splitting but I've found if you go a bit slower and watch your hook placement, it's not bad at all. I am using this to make a shaw and I am so excited because it is turning out beautifully! I love hobbii's selection of yams. You just can't find anything like them in the United States. This yarn is so soft, has great stitch definition, and an easy start tab so you can quickly find the middle of yarn cake. I will definitely be purchasing more!

This is the first skein I have ordered from Hobbii, and I didn't know what to expect. My 6yo daughter chose Oppenheimer Blue for the Abigail Fairy Dress she wanted me to make, and I was worried that one skein would not be enough. I am now more than halfway done with said dress, and can confidently say one skein will be plenty! The yarn itself is beautiful, thinner than I normally work with but that's not a problem. I love it so much that I have ordered three more skeins in different colors to make a few things for myself :)
