We really just cannot get enough of our fantastic Friends Cotton 8/6.

Cotton is a great, strong, durable, breathable, absorbent, and lightweight natural fiber. Friends Cotton 8/6 has no less than all these characteristics and it is made out of 6 threads spun together.

All the shades have been thoughtfully selected to create a complete range that spans from bright to pastel and darker colors.

The whole range comes with our “easy start” pull-out tab, making it much handier to find the beginning of your skein.

This fiber is also easy to take care of, making Friends Cotton 8/6 so versatile that you can craft anything with it. Need some inspiration? We recommend dishcloths, pot holders, totes, and rugs for your house. It will be suitable for any kind of garment for both babies, children, and adults. And let’s not forget stuffed toys, amigurumi, and cute animals. Cotton has a great stitch definition and will work amazingly well with textured stitches.

If that all was not enough already, another great thing about our Friends cotton yarns is that they are vegan-dyed.

Aren’t you already in love with Friends Cotton 8/6?

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

About the Friends family

The colors of the yarns included in the Friends family are literally friends!

This means the color numbers correspond to the same color across the different Friends yarns. If you order the same color number from two different Friends yarns, they will match. Please note that there can be slight differences in the shades from fiber to fiber.

Have fun combining and matching them in all your projects.

I love the variety of colors for this yarn and the quality is great being 100% cotton. However, I would say this yarn has a little less give/slack to it than your typical acrylic yarn but WAY less frizzes! I’m making a blanket with a combination of this yarn and friends cotton 8/8. After using them both, I would prefer this one as it is only 2 strands skinnier which I’ve been unable to notice once crocheted together but also this yarn is 33 yards longer than friends cotton 8/8 and 33 yards goes a long way when it comes to small skeins like theses. This yarn is super soft and feels great on the skin or just for a show piece. I will definitely be buying more!
Con: This yarn is often out of stock probably due to its popularity as well as the small skein sizes.
Pro: This purchase was something I’d consider money well spent, love it!

Coming from Denmark, I did NOT expect my order to arrive so quickly! I have yet to actually start on the project I purchased this yarn for (I can't find my hooks!) but even just taking it out of the bag I'm so impressed with the quality. This yarn is soft and the ply is perfect. I cannot WAIT to purchase more, though I understand why a lot of the colors I wanted are sold out!
Pros: Great quality, 100% cotton, great value for quality, beautiful colors.
Cons: Higher shipping, lots of colors sold out.
Overall, a wonderful product, and I'm looking forward to a color restock!

Somehow it's even softer than the 8/8? Got myself a semi-random assortment of each, just some colors I thought would be nice for amigurumi and ornaments, to get an idea of the two weights. I wish I'd gone and gotten some of the 8/4 at the same time, now I'm curious to see how all three stack up, but I really love the 8/6. Just made myself a little star ornament as my first test drive in the softest buttery yellow, and it was so quick and smooth and a real joy to handle. Not just my favorite cotton yarn I've tried so far, but one of my favorite yarns PERIOD.

Ugh, this yarn is a pleasure to work with. I find that with a lot of non-mercerized cotton yarns, the strands start to kind of unravel as I get further into a skein (with crochet), but that hasn't happened with this yarn yet! Don't know if it's spun different or what, but it's delightful. Not the softest I've felt right out of the gates, but I hope it'll soften up after washings. Weight is closer to a light worsted or DK than a fine IMO, which is perfect for what I needed.

Ok, so I'm making a top for a friend, and she said periwinkle is her fav color. Online, the pics for the color, "Cool Iris (72)," looks pretty close to that light blue/purple of periwinkle. In-person, it's perfect. Depending on the light, it's either purple or blue. Just divine. Anyways, the yarn is lovely to work with after getting the project going (early stages gave me achey hands). It's buttery smooth. Really excited to finish and show it off :)
