Hobbii Ribbon is our own lovely ribbon yarn that has been super popular for many years and a staple in our assortment. The yarn is produced from pure, high quality cotton and made specially for Hobbii. It consists of a flat, knit tupe that looks amazing when it’s knit or crocheted.
Many ribbon yarns are made from mixed qualities or leftover materials. Our Hobbii Ribbon is made from 100% cotton and knitting with it is a unique experience. We’ve put great care into finding the perfect ribbon yarn made from pure, natural materials. It needs to have the right balance where the yarn has the appropriate softness that makes it nice to work with, but also has enough volume and firmness to make the final shape of the project stable and keep its shape.
Hobbii Ribbon is durable and easy to work with. It can be used for all kinds of interior projects like bags, blankets, pillows, baskets, pot holders, and much, much more. Let your imagination run wild and let the many beautiful colors inspire you.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® certified (no. 2076-311). Find more information about the certification on the https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I made an 8 ft. rug for my hallway between my room and bathroom because my dog slips on the floor. It's also cold to walk on it.
I liked the cotton ribbon yarn, thinking it would be quick and easy. Hobbii has the largest choices of color, especially for the colors in my room. I selected peacock, light denim, and granite.
Using a P/Q hook, I did a hdc with two strands together, each strand a different color, eight rows each. I started out with peacock and light denim together, switched to light denim and granite, then granite and peacock, and repeated the colors ending with Peacock and light denim, until it was just over 7 ft long. I did a border of sc using the two strands together starting out with peacock and granite, then granite and light denim, and finishing with peacock and light denim. Turned out perfect!
It looks like marble and it reminds me of the rag rugs my aunt made. It took less than 2 weeks to make spending a couple hours a day working on it. It was very quick.
I haven't used this yarn in a project yet, but compared to the other ribbon yarns I own these are spectacular. No fraying or look threads, smooth, stretchy and lightweight, soft, and richly colored. The colors are rich and saturated and have a depth and vibrancy to them (even the muted or neutral tones) that rival premium yarns. I worked up a swatch and found it to be so much easier on my wrists than tshirt yarn since it is thinner and doesn't fight back when pulling through or keeping tension. Love that it is 100% cotton - the only one I've found that isn't some percent 'other fibers'. Beginner friendly since it doesn't split or snag but glides over the hook. I was constantly poking through the other brand of ribbon yarn with the tip of my hook, splitting the ribbon and fraying it. That wasn't an issue at all with this ribbon.
I Love this yarn!! It is so soft and very easy to work with. I purchased three skeins of the most beautiful dark red #44 Bordeaux and 3 skeins of #21 Light Sand to crochet an oval rug for my dining room. I am not finished yet but it is working up beautifully. And the red is a near perfect match for my walls, a big win!! Don't be afraid to try this yarn, it is very comfortable to work with and it is easy on your hands. But the best thing of all is the fabulous color selection. I would love to try all of these yummy colors!
This stuff is great for making baskets, rugs, plant holders, pot holders and all types of household products. Finished goods hold their shape really well, but it is also soft to touch and pliable. The colors seemed genuine and represented well online. I was surprised and delighted how well it worked with geometric crochet patterns. I assumed that switching from yarn to ribbon would blur the lines in my tapestry crochet, but that was not the case! If you have not done crochet with ribbon, definitely give this one a try.
I used this yarn to make the Easter basket pattern on this website. I enjoyed working with this yarn. The basket ended up sturdy and pliable. I think it has a good amount of yardage for the price. The color matches how it looks on my computer. I will definitely use this again to make baskets, purses, trays, or even pillow cushions. Because the yarn construction is a a knit tube, the yarn itself can start to unravel a little when weaving in the ends. It's not a big problem, just something to be aware of.
