Judy is one of the most versatile yarns and it’s made from jute. Jute is the name of the plant that the jute yarn is made from. It’s pretty, coarse, and very durable. The yarn consists of 2 strands that are spun together.

The pretty, rustic yarn can be used for many different projects. We especially recommend it for crocheting items like coaster, storage or decorative baskets, Christmas ornaments, lamps, pot cozies, placemats, keychains, etc. The yarn can also be used for macramé, so don’t hold back if you like macramé more than crocheting.

We’ve had yarns made for you in subtle colors, but we also have a couple of vibrant colors among them for those of you who like your interiors to be a little bolder.

Small tip: Judy can also be used as ribbon when you wrap presents. A more sustainable and prettier alternative to the classic plastic ribbons.

Thickness: approx. 0,06” (EU: 1,5 mm)

Very colorful and strong. I originally bought it to use for decorating Chistmas packages, instead of using ribbon. I bought more colors to use for other holidays & occassions. And now that i am going to get back into doing macrame project i am going to use it for those too. I do like that they are not huge skeins and i can buy more colors and they are easy to store, not heavy, kinda cute, and a good price.

First time using jute as a crochet thread. Using it for slipper soles. So far it's working up nicely, it is stiffer than I'd like but that's the nature of jute. Would love more yardage per skein. I'm using the natural color so hopefully no bleeding issues.

This yarn fiber is versitile

I am impressed by this cord. It is jute, so it's a stiff and somewhat scratchy cord. I've used it to make exfoliating soap cozies, and I love the results. It's a good level of exfoliation without being tto rought, especially when the cozy is wet and lathered. If dry it's too rought for me, but might work for some people with thougher skin and more exfoliation needs.

The color #7 is very pretty, it's a rich purple. Unfortunately it did bleed pretty heavily the first couple times I used it in a soap cozy, and the color faded a tiny bit, but it stopped bleeding after 3 uses and it's still vibrant. I've used it about 50 times now, there hasn't been any bleeding since. I suspect a spin through a standard wash cycle would be enough to remove all the bleeding.

It's jute so it is rough, scratchy, and stiff but it softens nicely when wet. I like the thickness and consistency of it since the jute twine I I usually see has big thick blobs along the strand where the fibers bunched. Jute isn't supposed to be smooth, but this one has much longer fuzzy threads than thinner versions. I only gave four stars because it was uncomfortable to crochet with since it rubbed my finger a bit raw even with very slack tension. Good for small projects (especially shower loofahs) but a nice novelty jute in a macramé cord thickness. Could I do without it? Yes. But I think it is a good quality, CONSISTENT jute in a thicker strand than what is wisely available.
