Please welcome the delicious cake yarn: Cookie – an exciting acrylic yarn from Järbo, perfect for knitted or crocheted garments and accessories. One single skein (app. 200 g) is enough for an entire shawl or poncho, and the gorgeous print colors give a lovely effect – without having to make a single change of yarn!

Cookie is both soft and super pleasant to work with. Furthermore, the weight of the yarn provides a quick and beautiful result in both knitting and crocheting. Cookie carries the OekoTex-certificate, which means that the production is environmentally friendly and socially responsible, so you in turn can enjoy working the yarn in good conscience for big and small!!

Please be aware that the yarn's thickness varies quite a bit, giving your project some texture.

Great yarn but this is NOT a bulky 5 as the label states. I am in the USA and order several skeins of different colors. Upon getting it and working one into a cabled hood I am very pleased with it. Works up well, it looks like a roving wool yarn but is acrylic. Very soft and the color blends are fabulous. This yarn in USA standards would be classified as a light worsted weight 4 yarn. I experimented with several crochet hook sizes. A K hook was definitely to big, a J hook is about the biggest I would use on the yarn. Ideally an I9 crochet hook is the perfect size to use on this yarn. I do not know what size knitting needles work best as I do not knit. But still this yarn is wonderful! The color schemes are perfect for shawls, scarves, hats and any pattern blankets that are worked in a continuous square, like the Galaxy, Mandala or Planet Earth pattern.

Just starting my third project using Cookie, and I am now a certified Cookie fan! Into my fifth ball, and not a knot to be seen. The colours are soft, even the bolder colours, and the transitions perfectly subtle.
It has that acrylic feel to it when you are working it up, but it isn’t stiff, harsh, or rough on the hands like some acrylics.
I’ve used an aluminium hook and a wooden hook and the yarn glides easily over both. I haven’t tried a plastic or acrylic hook with it yet, so can’t comment on how that combo works.
The completed items have a good drape and feel soft and warm against the skin. I’ve used it with one strand of Alpaca Blaze, and let me tell you… that is a match made in heaven!
So far Cookie has excelled when knitted and crocheted. I’ll try weaving with it and see if it can make the trifecta 😉

About mid-year last year, I ordered Cookie yarn in the colorway Romance. When my yarn arrived I was so excited as this was the first time I had ordered with Hobbii. The ordering here is so easy and simple. When I grabbed the first cake, I was really happy. The yarn is just so soft and crochets up really nicely. I had no breaks, no snags, no thin strands then thick strands, just nice consistent strands that pulled really easy from the center and I just started crocheting. So I just ordered 2 more cakes of Romance and I ordered 5 cakes of Menrhol. That colorway is going to be a cardigan from a Celtic cable crochet pattern I’ve been wanting to make for some time. I hope they keep making Cookie and possibly bringing on more colorways. I just adore this yarn.

Cookie is an absolutely lovely yarn to work with and watch the colors work up. It has become a go-to for me for blankets and shawls. This is not an issue for me, but be aware for projects where gauge/finished size are important that this works up more like a 3 weight yarn than a 4 weight as marked.

The only issue I had is that the color way Bohemian does not look anything like the pictures, it is much darker than pictured and the colors just don’t look like what is shown. I still like it and will use it but wish the photo better reflected the colors. All of the other colors that I’ve ordered (Nostalgia, Candy, Romance, Flowery, Meadow, and Heather) all look as pictured. I am addicted to this yarn and will keep purchasing.

I make prayer shawls for our church ministry group and Cookie has become my favorite yarn to use. The first time I ordered it I was nervous because it says that the diameter varied, but the colors were so beautiful I had to take the chance. The yarn crochets up wonderfully. The variety of colors is beautiful and the texture is perfect for the shawls. One cake is just the right size using an I hook. The only negative is also a plus. The yarn has a soft, slightly fuzzy finish which makes it difficult to frog if I make a misstitch. But still worth it for the finished effect. Ordering from Hobbii is easy and I always receive my orders promptly (faster than from most US companies 😄).
