I will start by saying that I only am in my second year of crochet and I read patterns since about 1 year. I got that pattern because I loved the squares and I love to make blankets out of beautiful squares. I found that pattern very confusing. I am a visual and not only there is not a lot of pictures to guide you through, but she chose a beautiful but dark color to make it, which make it worse when you try to compare and verify that you are in the right track. I had to start it 3 times to get to the result I will post in a minute. After all that though, I will still use it and eventually, probably make the shawl as it's suppose to be.

There is a lot of troubleshooting this pattern. The pattern itself is a bit confusing, with not many pictures to help you. There are mistakes I noticed that made it even harder to figure out. The most frustrating was trying to understand how the squares are supposed to be laid out, as well as the change from cake 1 to cake 2. The colors don't make sense in the way it's telling me to start with the second cake, with the image of the finished item looking different. It's been frustrating and more difficult than it should be.

This pattern is missing elements and is super confusing to read. I've contacted hobbii and they have provided a correction on some elements, but the pattern on the whole needs to be reviewed by someone and then be corrected. I'm not a novice and have tried 4 times to make sense of this pattern and can't.
