Soft, wonderful cotton yarn combined with acrylic which results in a lightweight and solid end product. The blend is similar to our lovely color changing Twister – same content, just one-colored.
If you like Twister, then the opportunities of making creative projects have just multiplied to infinity. Twister Solid is like a dear, little helper of 3.5 oz. (100 g). With this yarn on your needles/hook, you can add a one-colored edge to shawls and scarves. Or create stripes with Twister Solid, so you can prolong the color transition of twister. Or knit/crochet a blouse or cardigan in Twister and add one-colored sleeves or add a rib edge with Solid.
The possibilities are endless and we look forward to see what you will create with the yarn.
Originally, Twister Solid was thought of as an addition to Twister. But why play second fiddle!
Twister Solid is very well-suited for e.g. blouses and cardigans and other types of clothing. It does not have the same weight as 100% cotton, but it feels light and is soft and comfortable against the skin. Furthermore, it is ideal for kids’ clothing since it is easy to wash and stays neat.
Check out our popular Twister here.
PLEASE NOTE: Suggested knitting gauge is approx. 26 stitches x 35 rows with US needles size 2.5 (3 mm). On the yarn label it reads 22 stitches with US needle size 1.5-6 (2.5-4 mm). Twister Solid is a very flexible yarn which can be knitted tightly with US needle size 1.5 (2.5 mm), so you get a knitting gauge of approx. 28 stitches. You can also knit it looser with US needle size 6 (4 mm) and get approx. 22 stitches for e.g. extra soft shawls and scarves. Thus, you can experiment with the knitting gauge and easily vary it with various needle sizes depending on the project you are about to start. Try making a small gauge swatch of 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm), so you can measure your knitting gauge before you start. Then you have the option to adjust it, so it matches the pattern or the gauge, you wish.
Besides this, another unfortunate mistake appears on the label. The yarn consists of 55% cotton and 45% acrylic. We apologize for the mistake!
The Twister Solid colors are found in the following Twister variations:
PLEASE NOTE that Twister and Twister Solid will never match up 100%, since they are dyed in seperate dye lots.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® certified (no. 2076-311). Find more information about the certification on the https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

Such lovely yarns, very soft !! I ordered some of the Twister Solids to edge the Big Twister yarn colors. I really appreciated the fact that they showed the color compatability using the twister solids with the bigger twister yarn. I'm making a few of the granny cardigans in various colors...I got the pattern on Hobbii's site..under pattern suggestions for the Twister yarn ..very easy and fast pattern and should be very cute when I get finished... I'm making cardigans for both my Aunt and cousin to take and wear this September when they take a trip to Ireland, and one for my Dad's wife to throw on , and lastly I will also make one for myself !! Very happy with the drape and softness of this yarn... I love the solid colors too..I got the dark grey, black, and lilac colors... So very pleased with this yarn, and the customer service will definitely buy again and again from Hobbii !! Lovely yarns !!
Just got a chance to place a review on my order. So pretty a while ago I ordered this yarn in charcoal color. Color is matching the picture for 90% and I loved it. It was perfect for my project, and exactly what I was looking for.
So this yarn is not changing the gauge after washing (but keep by the direction, according to the type of yarn!)
It’s nice to the skin, feels so soft and doesn’t loose the color after washing. I wouldn’t recommend to dry it in the drying machine, to not damage project you’ve made.
I wanna mention my especial thank to the Hobbii team! On the way of delivery, my package was damaged and one ball was missing. Custom service sorted this situation out in less than a week. Thank you guys for the wonderful service you provide ❤️
Definitely will get back to buy more!
I was hesitant to order at first, but I'm SO glad I did. The hesitation came from the fact that I'd never worked with a yarn this fine and wasn't sure that I would be able to handle it. I found quickly that I was wrong to be afraid of it. Twister solid comes in a great variety of colors and works up like a dream! I like color-changing yarns, and they have their purpose, but I love the fact that Twister comes in solids so that I can control the color changes myself for the effects I want in my projects. Thank you Hobbii for providing a wonderful product!!!!!!!
I have bought multiple colours of the Twister solid and am making a granny square type blanket. I love this yarn! I like the fact it is blended with the acrylic as I hope it will give my finished project better shape retention and also easy machine washable care. It is incredibly soft and easy to work with. It's also a lovely light weight which is perfect for the tropical climate I live in. This is my new favourite yarn, and I am finding more future projects that I will be using Twister solid for.
I bought this back when it was still listed as DK/Lt Worsted on the site and while too thin for me and my arthritic hands unless I at least double it up the colors are gorgeous!! You won't find one color that doesn't knock your socks off with how saturated it is with color. Just stunning. I wish I could add pictures of the dice bags I've made for my hubby and his friends with it. I've only made 3 out of 7 so far but all given out have been ooo'd and ahh'd over for their color and stitch definition.
