Hello! This pattern is gorgeous but I am having trouble figuring out the math for starting this. How do I translate the measurement of overarm into # of stitches? Is it 1 stich per inch of measurement? Also, I want to start with chain less DC but I don't understand the starting instructions: "Inc, A-2, inc, B-1, ch 2, B-1, inc, A-2, inc, B-1, ch 2, B-1 (join the chainless starting dc with the last st) work 1 sl st, ch 2 and turn." Can anyone help? Thank you!

I was having the same problem as Shannon, U did read the pattern twice before starting. Thought i had s pretty good grasp on it however, when it came right down to it, I didn't! It took me a couple of days and the help of my crocheting circle to figure to out a couple of things. Once i got started, everything worked out great. I'm so happy I picked this patten. It's just beautiful!!

It's a very "trust the process" pattern but it translates beautifully!
I didn't know how to start chain less, so I started with a chain and I had to adapt the pattern to fit better at chest level by decreasing right after joining the body, and I'm so happy with the result. I love the fact that it follows my body contour!!
