Soft Silk is a soft and rustic bourette silk, also known as raw silk. A nice silk that ensures a great result - ideal for baby and children's garments, because of the silk quality: warm in winter and cooling on a hot summer day.
Due to the high proportion of silk glue (whose smell dissipates relatively quickly), the bourette silk is said to have a natural healing power - it also has anti-inflammatory effects and soothes the skin. Again; Soft Silk is therefore ideal for baby and children's clothing.
Nature is important to BC Garn, therefore Soft Silk is dyed with AZO free and Oeko-Tex certified dyes, this means that the dye process is gentle to the environment.
There may be excess dye in some of the colors. We therefor recommend to rinse the yarn in cold water before use; finish with a rinse of water added a little vinegar. We recommend not to wear your knitted project over a white shirt or pants the first time. Always wash in cold water.
Soft Silk is spun and dyed by a small mill in India.

I made a cardigan out of this yarn, and it is by far one of my favorite garments. I LOVE this yarn. When hand washing, it does bleed a bit (the water tends to turn pretty green)-- i would not wash this in a machine of course. But even after several washes, the green on the yarn itself is still quite vibrant. I have quite a bit of this yarn left and am so excited to use it again.

I'm really enjoying working with this yarn (once I figured out how to turn a hank to a skein manually 😅)
The rustic look gives the pieces almost a clones stitch look up close, and looks luxurious from further away. Very much appreciate that one hank goes a long way. I haven't had any issues with bleeding, but will definitely do a vinegar bath once my piece is complete.

Soft Silk 100g - BC Garn
I bought 3 colourways in this yarn and it is truely scrumptious. Pastel Green, Mist and Natural White.
I am in the process of making a ladies summer top in each colour.
It is so lovely to work with and it knits up beautifully.
I will definitely use it again.

I ordered the color Anthrazite. I have never tried Silk yarn before, but it feels like linen, but more luxurious. I will be using this to make a summer pullover polo top, and I have high expectations for this.
It has a soft handfeel and a beautiful color .
