This wonderful little circular needle from German addi now makes it easier to knit socks, sleeves, mittens and baby clothes. Addi Sock Wonder Lace is an asymmetrical round needle which makes it easier to work around when you’re working hard on small projects with a small circumference. The needles have different lengths; the long needle is 70 mm (2.75 inches) and the short needle is 45 mm (1.77 inches). You knit with the long needle in the right hand while holding the short needle in the left. If you are left handed then it’s the opposite of course. With these needles you have the possibility to knit one whole sock without changing needles along the way. The cable is the same as addis’ other circular needles, smooth and light but only 13.5 cm (5.3 inches) long. Since everything is made so wonderfully, even the transition from needle to cable is totally smooth, so you’ll just want to use the circular needle over and over again.
The longer needle has a LACE tip, which has a more tapered, sharper point than the shorter needle.
Addi have their headquarters in Germany and their products are likewise produced in Germany. With addi’s tools you’re guaranteed quality which is built to last. The needles are nickel free and can easily be used by people with allergies.

These are a beautiful tool for a sock and particularly mitten or glove knitter. Cuffs for socks or gloves, fingers, toes, small sleeves for little dog jumpers, dolls’ or baby clothes, all call for these to make knitting them easier. Any small circular circumference flows easily on those little needles, and the longer working needle makes much handier work with them. Even if you normally prefer DPNs it is worth your while giving these a serious go. They also double up as stitch holders and cable needles. I particularly like the smooth transition between cable and needle and their light weight.
I'm so thankful I tried these needles! I'm currently knitting my first pair of socks with them. I like how there's a larger needle for my dominant hand that I use to make the stitches and a smaller needle where the stitches sti while waiting to be worked. I had a little hand cramping at first, but once I got a few rows in the stitches were not stretched so tight and I could relax my hands more. I'm a tight knitter (I usually go 1-2 sizes up from suggested needle sizes), and I haven't had an issue with these needles.
I was never able to successfully knit socks until I tried these needles. Being able to knit continuously and not fiddle with magic loop (I've never been brave enough to try DPNs) has been a major game changer. I'm considering buying a second pair of these so I can knit my pairs two at a time. Overall I love these needles and would recommend them.
I’ve always loved sock circular needles, but the uneven needle length is GENIUS! Working on that small a scale can lead to some serious hand/wrist cramps. Having a much longer needle tip on one side makes the narrow circle so much easier to maneuver. I made a sock in a single afternoon with these! Love love love!
These are the best needles for socks. I’ve tried every brand and these with one longer needle in a lace tip and the shorter regular tip on the other end are pure genius. I bought 2 pairs since I do my socks 2 at a time, cuff on one, cuff on other etc all the way to the toe. Love these sock needles!!!
