Wool is a 100% wool yarn with a distinctive rustic charm. This yarn stands out with its loosely spun nature, which preserves its natural aesthetic giving Wool its distinctive character with a slight variation in thickness. The wool used to produce this yarn is sourced from South America and therefore mulesing-free.
Wool’s color palette is classical and full of neutrals, without lacking some brighter and more contrasted hues. Ideal for a wide range of creative endeavors with a pair of 8 mm (US 11) knitting needles or a 10 mm (US UP-15) crochet hook. Think of toasty afghans, jumpers, and cardigans: both if you are working with solid colors, stripes, or an intricate intarsia pattern. It can also be felted, hence you can also craft slippers, mittens, bags, pillow covers, and other home décor projects. The felting capability opens up a myriad of possibilities for both practical and decorative pieces, ensuring that your projects not only look good but also offer enhanced warmth and durability.
With its unexpected texture, Wool will make your project one-of-a-kind.
Woolpower has been rebranded into our Wool family. The product and the colors are exactly the same, it is just the label that has a new, fun look. Please bear with us while we phase out the stock with the older label.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I am totally on TEAM WOOLPOWER- if you had a team. I would make giant pompoms from WoolPower and I would lead all the knitters of the world in a cheer :-). I have tried a bunch of colors, this time deep mauve. The quality is awesome, the deepness of the color is just beautiful and it is spun so lightly that when knit into a hat, you can barely feel it on, and yet it is nice and warm and cozy. Also you get enough yardage you can save the ball and have enough to knit a striped hat with other leftover Woolpower.

I really enjoyed using this wool to make my husband a Range Cowl. The wool didn't split, feels substantial and sheepy, but isn't terrible as far as the "itch" factor. Not a ton of guard hairs/itchiness that would be off-putting. It felt really good on the hands as I knit.
I used a total of 7 skeins to make the col and mu husband was really happy with his cowl.
I will use this again on another outerwear project.

I got a few skeins of this to start learning nalbinding. It's going great. It felts easily, so joining yarn ends is quick and easy. It does come untwisted a bit while working, but that's pretty normal, especially with 1-ply yarn. I'm actually extremely pleased with how well it holds itself together; I'm fairly new to 1-ply and was expecting more trouble. It's also VERY soft.
Overall, very satisfied.

This yarn is thick! This should be obvious from the description, but I was unprepared for how thick the resulting material would be and how fast a skein would be used up (crocheting, not knitting). That said, I do really like it - it is soft and should make a nice felted material (just a bit thicker than intended). I used a 10mm crochet hook (vs a 6mm for the regular Woolpower).

I got this wool because it was an affordable 100% wool yarn. I got I think 10 balls of it in 5 different colors do nålebind some slippers for the house. This yarn is PERFECT for nålebinding it felts together SO easily for joining and makes such squishy finished items. It felts easily as you're wearing it as well so the more you wear it the warmer it becomes.
