Ribbon Summer Top
Quick knit on large needles
Knitting is not only a winter hobby. This fabulous top is perfect for those days that are most common during the Danish Summer. It works up quickly with needle size 17 (12 mm). The front and the back of the top are the same, so it is easy peasy to knit. The summer top is also great as a vest on a chilly summer evening.

This pattern is great, either by itself or as a base from which to start. I've made it twice - once for me and once for a friend. I added a lace pattern at the neckline and a long ruffle with lace on the bottom at the waist (hides the tummy and accentuates the hips 😉). With my alterations on a size large I needed 4 skeins. The finished tops are definitely cool enough to wear in the summer in the middle of the US but weight wise are very heavy - if you're taking a trip by plane with just a carry-on, it might not be the top to bring. Although the ruffle I added probably adds quite a bit of weight. Anyway, love the top!
