I really like this yarn for toys. It is soft and only a tick splitty, not that difficult to navigate with a small hook. The colours displayed are pretty accurate, just a bit brighter but same shade/tone.
I live in Canada and most stores do not carry DK cotton so I was delighted to discover Hobbii! The amazing selection of colours is incredible and completely supporting my newfound amigurumi obsession! Even with the exchange rate, the price is reasonable and the shipping is surprisingly fast!
The only downside was that my order came completely lopsided - one bag had only two balls of cotton yarn and one bag was so overstuffed it did not close properly and it was sent to the post office. I had to walk to pick it up and carry it home and it was really heavy. I wish it was divided evenly between the two bags!

First of all, I have this favorite color that I have a hard time explaining to people. It's a mix of purple and gray - a purple that trends gray. Hobbii has this elusive color that I love so much! Secondly, it's a very affordable, 100% cotton yarn, my absolute favorite kind of yarn to use. Also, I prefer a #3 DK yarn for most projects, so the 8/8 yarn is my go-to. Last, but definitely not least, is the shipping which is reasonably priced and quick, especially since I'm in the USA. Additionally, the yarn always meets gauge - I can't tell you all how many times I've looked at gauges on yarn wrappers, and wondered how they achieved that when I can't get to it with any size needles or hooks. This yarn gauges what the wrapper says, which makes my projects easier to plan. Please don't ever discontinue color #13!

I received some of this yarn in a lucky bag along with some Black Friday 8/8 Cotton. I noticed that both were listed as 82 yards/50 grams and 100% cotton so thought they would be interchangeable. I made a Double-Thick Pot Holder in a KAL this summer out of the yellow Black Friday 8/8 Cotton and thought the blue Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn I received would make a good set. When I started knitting with the Rainbow Cotton I noticed that the yarn was much lighter and softer...and my gauge was WAY off! What I didn't notice is that although the yardage/fiber content are the same the Rainbow Cotton 8/8 is labeled DK weight and the Black Friday Cotton 8/8 is labeled Aran weight! While I like both of these yarns, the Rainbow Cotton 8/8 is so soft, unlike a lot of other 100% cotton yarns I've tried.

I Keep reviewing the wrong yarns because the products are so similar but this is me trying to rectify my reviews.
I got this in the colors Cobolt Blue (96), Sky Blue (70), and Old Rose (46), to make a Stitch plushie and I'm enjoying working with the yarn. I'm using a 3mm crochet hook and the stitch definition is beautiful and the yarn is soft. There is a bit of splitting but I'm starting to think that's just a feature of cotton yarn when the hook is on the smaller side of what's acceptable. The finished crocheted project isn't has structure but isn't stiff which I like and the colors are beautiful (the blues photograph more purple than in person and I think the photos are also more saturated).

Everything about this buying experience has been great. I live in Queensland Australia, and am thrilled with how quickly the order was assembled and arrived here. Thank you. It has been a long time since I have had such good customer service. Even the website was easy to use!! The yarn is so soft, the colours beautiful, excellent quality and a terrific price. I found it easy to work with but did have a slight problem with splitting using the ”pointy” end Boye brand hook. This was fixed when I changed to a rounder end hook Aero brand hook. I am making the Carnival of Colours blanket by Noelene Semprey, and for hot Queensland this will be great. Thank you again.
