Glomma - Crocheted Socks
Crocheted socks with pattern
Crochet a pair of lovely Glomma socks, so you can keep your feet warm and colorful all at once! The socks are crocheted in pattern for the shaft and along the instep. You’ll need 2 skeins of Woolpower for the socks, but with 3 skeins, you’ll have enough for 2 pairs of socks and hence a lovely gift for someone you love :)
Enjoy!
NOTE! This pattern is made with one or more discontinued yarns / colors. If you need help with an alternative, you are always welcome to contact our customer service.

First time crocheting socks and I found the instructions a bit confusing at first. After figuring it out and making a pair I realised in a part where it says to repeat until a certain amount of stitches, doesn’t need to be repeated at all. I’m unsure if it’s my lack of sock experience, but I found the wording a bit difficult to follow compared to other projects.
I made the largest size and the shape of it finished was a bit odd, but looked fine once worn. Took a bit to figure out the back loop that I needed to create the V pattern as it didn’t correspond to the back loops when I searched it online. As per other review, it did need a bit of trial and error to figure it all out. If it’s your first time making socks, I suggest trying a different pattern first.

I love these socks! It was trial and error at first because I had never made socks before. Once I got going, though, it became easier to read the directions. However, I wish there had been a note in the pattern regarding the starting chain because I was a few rounds in when I thought to test fit them over my feet and the starting chain band was too small. I had to frog back to the beginning and go up two hook sizes before the starting chain would fit my feet. Other than that, I appreciated the freedom of measuring certain parts of the sock by a ruler instead of by rounds or rows, since I have a tighter tension.

This is definitely an intermediate-level pattern, so for anyone new to crocheting socks I recommend starting with a beginner-level pattern to understand the basics!
Even as a newbie to crocheting socks, I was still able to follow the pattern easily aside from a few moments of confusion. There are a few steps that are a little unclear and hard to follow, like the beginning of the heel cap and the turning of the heel wedge in particular.
However, I really love the design of these socks and I'm so happy with how mine turned out!
