Edelweiss is a soft 4-ply sock yarn with a noticeable amount of alpaca in it. 10 percent alpaca doesn’t sound like much, but it really makes a difference! The special blend of this yarn gives it the best of both worlds. It’s durable, machine washable, and so soft that it’s also suitable for other types of clothes and accessories.
The raw wool comes from South America and is, of course, mulesing-free.
Edelweiss is spun in Italy in skeins of 25g. It gives you more flexibility if you’re working on a multi-colored project – not just socks, but also shawls, sweaters, and all other kinds of projects you want to be warm, soft, and easy to maintain.

I purchased some Edelweiss Alpaca wool with my Hobbii points. It was so soft and beautifully coloured . The quality is amazing and we cant get allergies from it like sheep wool . I try to get one with my points on every order. I am saving them up to make a soft warm pair of socks for my beautiful Daughter in Law. She will love them . It will be a great present . Winters in Ontario Canada can be very cold, and Alpaca wool is extremely warm. I get the heather colour as she loves purple things .

Since I chose a skien of Edelweiss with my points, I have chose nothing else. It is soft and the colors are rich and true to the pictures. I am up to 18 skiens, when I get all the colors I am going to make Granny Squares for a light weight jacket. I also ordered the Highland Wool and found that they are very compatible. Great way to spend your points.

I just finished a scarf using 6 balls of this yarn in green, it is beautiful! Highly recommend this one! I just wish it was available for purchase in the general hobbii store. There is no option to post a picture here but I wish I could, the drape and stitch definition is exquisite
