Amigo XL is one of those wonderful types of yarn that is so easy to work with that it flies over the needle or hook. It is soft and comfortable is produced in 100% HB acrylic of a very high quality and comes in an enormous selection of colors.

HB stands for high bulk. It is a production technique that uses steam and pressure to make the fibers contract a little and curl so that they become fuller. The result is a light and soft yarn that is both comfortable to work with and to wear on the body.

Amigo XL has double the thickness of Amigo, and can therefore be knitted or crocheted on a size 5 mm needle or hook. You will see quick results. The soft yarn is suitable for lots of creative, colorful projects. It does not scratch and is therefore great to use for blankets, sweaters, hats, scarves, etc. The airy yarn will keep you warm and won’t get too heavy.

The entire Amigo series is distinguished by its light volume, uniform structure, and great durability. It can be machine washed at 30°C, perfect for everyday use. Colors and shape will hold up to wash after wash. If you’re allergic to wool, or if you want to opt out of animal fibers for other reasons, you can replace it with Amigo for a soft and lovely result.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

The yarn itself feels quite plasticky (as you would expect), but once it's worked up, it's actually quite soft for an acrylic yarn. It's quick to crochet with and creates a nice and consistent fabric. I didn't have any problems with splitting or knots in the yarn. It's definitely worth it if you can get it on sale. The colors are saturated. The Sunflower color (36) is much more orange than it looks online (looks more like what 37 is shown as), and the Titanium (07) is a little bit darker. The Ecru (02) and Primrose (35) were true to color and very pretty. I don't use acrylic yarn much these days, but if I do, I'm definitely using this one.

Of all the 'bargain' acrylic worsted yarns I've tried, this one is the best by a huge margin. minimal to no splitting (if you hank your yarn just be careful so it doesn't twist the wrong way and loosen the ply), very squishy and plush, super lightweight and lofty, and great stitch definition. Colors are rich and have depth to them since the acrylic is smooth and has that subtle sheen of good quality yarn. Doesn't seem to attract nearly as much cat hair (white cat) as other acrylics so I use this yarn if I need to make something in a darker color. You really can't go wrong.

This yarn is an absolute dream to work with and the color is so vibrant and beautiful. I am a huge fan of all the products i have tried from Hobbii. Unfortunately i made a mistake when figuring how much yardage i would need and i didnt order enough of the shade delicate rose #47 so i have had to order more. I cant request yarn from a certain lot number so I’m hoping the shade is the same. I just want it to all be perfect for my sisters baby shower in April. I highly recommend Amigo XL for worsted and i love love love the mega ball option too. It’s all just fantastic!!

This is SUCH a great and versatile yarn for making amigurumi! I commonly use worsted medium weight 4 yarn and struggle to find choices that include good skin tones. This is it; it has my favorite peach color for fair skin (as well as olive and dakrer tones with the "dark beige" and "walnut"). It also has so many color options for making colorful amigurumi. I generally lean towards pastel palettes and the Amigo XL comes in a lot of great pastel shades too, not just vibrant and bold colors. I love the affordability of this yarn and am an all-around fan!

I love the colors of the AmIgo Yarns. I bought both weights the #3 & the #4. Both are extremely soft & the colors are so vibrant. As soon as I unpacked all the yarn & marveled at all their textures & colors I immediately grabbed a hook & started crocheting a Christmas Hat with the #4 XL AmIgo Christmas ♥️ Red. It took no time at all bc the Yarn just slides off my hook beautifully. This is a pic of my finished Christmas Hat using hdc for the main part of the Hat using Christmas Red XL AmIgo & FPDC & BPDC for the Brim in white.
