Azalea is a wonderful cotton blend that consists of four thin strands that stick together without being spun together. This allows for the most amazing color gradients! The combination of cotton and acrylic results in a light and remarkably comfortable yarn that is both breathable and soft. The acrylic adds some elasticity to the yarn, allowing it to keep its shape, and is not as heavy as 100% cotton.
Azalea is available in many gorgeous color combinations with an unusual depth to the colors. The large, lovely 200-gram cakes run an impressive 800 meters. The beautiful color variations happen smoothly throughout the entire ball, one thread at a time. This results in a stunning, slow color gradient.
It’s up to you, which color you want to start and finish with because you can start from the inside or the outside. Yarn cakes are easy to deal with, even when you’re on the go. You will need one ball of Azalea for a shawl or a scarf, or you can combine several into a summer dress or blouse for a beautiful dip dye effect.
Because Azalea is related to many other gorgeous yarns in the shop you can already hunt for inspiration among the patterns for the same yarn type, like Honolulu.
Pro tip: Before you start working the cake, run all 4 treads through a small bead to help the threads stay together throughout the project.

I have such a dilemma with my vast collection of colors of these cake yarns - they are so amazing all wound up, I can't bear to use them - just love looking at them and squeezing them... and dreaming of what to use them for! I don't want to 'waste' such spectacular yarn on something that isn't going to be shown off in it's worked up glory! Just keep adding others to the huge box full...when it goes on sale, I snatch up more more more!

I know some people aren’t comfortable trying this yarn because it’s for thin strands of basically thread sized yarn. But, if you run it through a bead before you start your project you won’t be sorry you tried this yarn. The colors change soooo slowly it’s amazing. The color choices are very nice. I made a shawl that drapes beautifully and will be perfect for summer.

My first purchase with Hobbii and I'm absolutely in love with this yarn. I got the color Aurore (08). The way this yarn slowly changes color 1 strand at a time is something I've never seen before. I get so excited every time I get to the next color change! I cant wait to buy some of the other color changing lines for future projects! Granny Hexicardigan is next on my list!

This was my first Hobbii purchase and what kept me coming back for more yarn! It's a beautiful color changing yarn, lots of options. I got Pink Delight (02) and I LOVE the pinks. It's soft with a bit of stretch, so it really is a perfect combo of acrylic and cotton. I didn't find the loosely twisted threads an issue at all, although it may be a bit to handle for some.

I got the 05 and 06 yarns, they both have beautiful colors, and they feel much softer to me than the pure cotton yarns. The four strands take a little while to get used to, but work well. The gradients are really long and pretty, and I am working on making a shawl with the Persil colors. I will definitely be ordering 03 and 04 once they are back in stock!
