Amigo is a really soft yarn with wonderful, airy volume. It is produced from 100% HB acrylic of very high quality and comes in an enormous selection of colors.
HB stands for high bulk. It is a production technique that uses steam and pressure to make the fibers contract a little and curl so that they become fuller. The result is a light and soft yarn that is both comfortable to work with and to wear on the body.
Amigo is easy to work with in knit as well as crochet, and a little goes a long way! There is a whopping 175 meters in 50 grams. It is absolutely perfect for soft, warm blankets, but also lovely for things like sweaters, hats, and scarves that will never be itchy. The airy yarn will keep you warm and won’t get too heavy.
The entire Amigo series is distinguished by its light volume, uniform structure, and great durability. It can be machine washed at 30°C, perfect for everyday use. Colors and shape will hold up to wash after wash. If you’re allergic to wool, or if you want to opt out of animal fibers for other reasons, you can replace it with Amigo for a soft and lovely result.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I don’t knit with acrylic as a rule because I don’t usually like the way it feels in my hands. To be honest, I ordered Amigo (light worsted) when my original plans failed, and I am not disappointed! I am knitting a baby blanket for my first grand-niece/nephew, following a pattern that is simple but that uses 17 colors — I was able to easily choose colors from the huge selection and the yarn is soft and lovely to work with! I’m not a very good knitter and despite the simple pattern I did a lot of tinking early on and then decided to rip it out and start anew; the yarn held up beautifully through that and is no worse for the wear now that I am knitting the pattern once more! It is soft, it is not at all splitty, and I am confident that even with my lousy knitting the end result will be lovely. Even if you think you don’t like acrylic, give this one a go, you won’t regret it!

AMIGO is my second order from Hobbii to the Northeast USA. Ordered a dozen different colours for a four pointed turtle neck poncho I am designing. Was extremely happy to be in receipt of correct order in just four days along with nifty surprise gifts; tiny digital row counter and a wrapped candy ! Dare say, would have preferred stitch markers instead ! AMIGO quality is precisely what I had envisioned and the colours are ALMOST spot on. Number 38 is correctly named CURRY as it is more curry than golden as seen and Number 51 named MARSALA is truly more BRICK. Number 53 named Bordeaux is more reddish than depicted and should be named EGGPLANT, which is nicer than expected in any case. The aforementioned a tiny bit disappointing, but perfectly fine for my project. Am looking forward to posting a foto of the finished poncho when it's completed. THANK YOU Hobbii !

I ordered Amigo yarn for the first time, because I wanted something affordable for a quick project. I am learning that usually the natural fibers are easier for me to work with, and make a most satisfying end result, but they are obviously higher priced. The price on this is initially what attracted me, along with the positive reviews. I am using this yarn to make a lap blanket, and find it to be the softest acrylic yarn I have worked with yet! I love the way it feels in my hands while I am working with it, and also its drape after it has been worked up into a swatch. So very impressive for an acrylic yarn! It frogs fairly well, but does leave some little fuzzy halos. It was not an issue for me for this particular project. I've used many other brands of acrylic yarns in my beginning crochet adventures, and this is my favorite, by far!

I really like this yarn I got quite a few colors so I can definitely speak on the color compared to the pictures. For reference I have an iPhone. All colors are slightly darker in person so that is something to keep in mind but still very similar except delicate rose it is not the same what so ever. It is more vibrant like a soft neon pink not really light like the picture. This was a problem when it came to the blanket I was making the bright color would have looked bad and out of place. I contacted hobbii and they said it was the right color. I have to place another order for a different color now because return shipping would have been $30 and that would have been pointless. Other than that I think this is really nice yarn.

Absolutely stunning color selection. I love to crochet granny squares, and this amigo yarn gives me so many color choices! I will say the amigo "egg yolk" (A37) ended up being a much brighter yellow than anticipated. I was hoping for a deep golden (aka egg yolk color) but instead it was a much brighter, almost aggressively bright yellow. But the other colors I received (Steel Blue A24, Dusty Green A27, Mauve A50, and Rust A40) were all stunning and true to the color on the screen. Maybe egg yolk was the odd one?? Either way I will happily re-purchase. Best to buy on sale, and thankfully this yarn is on sale quite often! :)
