Magic Sock Wool has the loveliest, gradual color changes, which are exciting to follow. The surprisingly lovely nuances, which unfold as you knit, make it a little more fun to knit socks – even the second one. But do not let Magic Sock Wool being a sock yarn stop you in your creativity. Use it, for example, in shawls, scarves, hats, etc., and it is lovely in shirts and cardigans. Here, the magical change in colors can give your work an extra lift; knit for example a lovely, striped cardigan, or use it for edging and pockets – the possibilities are endless.
Magic Sock Wool is a single-thread yarn, which means that it is not spun from multiple threads. Its rustic structure is reminiscent of hand spun yarn with a natural variation in thickness. With single-thread yarn, we get a delightful softness and some incredible colors. It also means that the yarn feels loose and not as strong as normal sock yarn.
Magic Sock Wool consists of 70% wool with 30% nylon for durability. The wool is super wash-treated and can therefore be machine-washed at 30°C.
NB! The gradual color changes cause the skeins to appear quite different within the same color number.

Reviewing a batch I bought in May 2020 for anyone tracking quality changes. I love this yarn so much. The colours are amazing, I am especially fond of 'poppy field' and 'summer sun'. I have knitted several pairs of socks now, the yarn can be a little splitty in the fluffiest parts, but is generally quite satisfying to work with.
My first pair of socks in this yarn are a favourite pair, I made then about 10 months ago and have worn and washed them around once a week since. there is some felting (not surprising as I am on my feet 10h a day at least) and fuzzing but no shrinkage or thinning, and the socks are as cute and comfy as they were when they came off the needles.
I love how if you stick your nose in the ball, you can smell a sheepy wool scent, not strong dyestuffs.
I have used this yarn in the beautiful Autumn Woods colour to make fun retro ombre granny squares for a vest. The yarn does all the work , so very few ends to sew in. It feels surprisingly soft, good to work with and is so easy to wash! The colours are way much too pretty to hide inside shoes ;)
Now I need to think of a new project for these tempting colours...

The yarn is gorgeous. I took it to my knitting group and everyone loved the colors and textures and wanted to know where I got it. They could not believe the great price!! You will have more groupies joining your newsletter. I can't wait to get the socks I am knitting off my needles so I can knit a pair with Happy Sheep.
Lovely wool, great quality for the price. Colour changes are amazing and the yarn lends itself to so much more than just socks. Glides on the hook. The yarn lends itself well to the inevitable frogging that can occur with certain projects.
This is the best fine yarn I have ever worked with. I no longer see the color I ordered and used which is #10 tulip. It was the perfect shades of purple and lavender. Easy to use and easy to work with. Sorry I don't see any more to order.
