Product information
Addi Swings is a colorful and ergonomically shaped crochet hook that relieves your hand and shoulder while you crochet. The handle is made of silicone, and thanks to its long, ergonomic shape, it rests comfortably in your hand, ensuring you hours of strain-free crocheting. The hooks measure no less than 16 cm (6,3 in), and each size has its own, beautiful color.
The hooks are made of aluminum and are, of course, nickel-free. The metal part of these Swings crochet hooks is slightly shorter than on most hooks. They measure from 2,7 to 3,5 cm (approx. 1 to 1.4 in) depending on the size of the crochet hook.
NB! Addi is in the process of changing the design of their Swings crochet hooks. This means there will be a period when you, the customer, might receive either the old or the new model. The new version has a slightly deeper and more tapered hook, making the crocheting experience even better.
The metal surface has also been significantly improved with an anodized aluminum surface, making it extra durable and dirt-repelling. You will recognize the new model by its matte, gray metal hooks, and, in time, they will all change from shiny to matte. You can find a picture of the new variant in the Photo Gallery.

I have tried so many hooks in my search for comfort and usability. Personally, I have arthritis in my hands and wrists and I find that these hooks allow me to crochet for about an extra hour before I need a rest. My crochet style is mostly amigurumi, so I also prefer to work small with high tension. These worked wonderfully for that because the hook does not dislodge from the handle when it's under high tension. This has happened to me with other brands. (For instance I received a beginner's set from Amazon and I was constantly having to stop and push the hook back into the rubber grip.) I'm so happy not to have that problem anymore!

I have all sizes of these and do like them because they don't make my wrist ache and i choose them for longer projects. They take a bit to get used to. They are more rounded than than my Pony hooks and a slicker texture than my clover soft touch. I feel like my stitches are looser as I am normally a tight crocheter but its encouraging and less pain is always a good thing. I would recommend them and keep them in my rotation. If you have wrist or hand pain I would give them a try.

These are the best hooks I have ever used! I was a fan of the Prym ergonomic hooks, but the smaller sizes snap very easily.
I thought I would try a 3.0mm in the Addi Swings because of the ergonomic handle and metal hook. Well, I'm hooked on these hooks! They are super comfortable to use and no hand or thumb pain at all! I can crochet for extended periods again ❤️
I started with one, now I own the whole set!

I never understood before why everyone seemed to be over the moon about "ergonomic" crochet hooks--since having tried these, I almost can't bring myself to use ordinary straight-shank hooks anymore. By far the most comfortable crocheting experience I've ever had.

I have to admit that since I was used to using straight hooks with no handles, the length of the hook part took a little bit to get used to. But they fit perfectly in your hand! My hands used to cramp up on long projects, but these hooks have made that soo much better!
