Easy peasy, i whipped this up in one day. Did not need 3 balls, finished my bag in 1.8balls. Its a great stretchy bag with plenty of room, i will be making more.
I was dubious how big it would be after finishing the base but found the finished bag surprisingly capacious. Changed the i cord handles for 5 stitch garter with a 3 needle bind off to attach them because i have a crochet version of this with icord handles and the garrer stitch is a lot more comfortable on your hands.

I just finished my first Tote. It’s easy and fun to make. I wanted to make a suggestion about the i-cord. The pattern says to sew the strap onto the next 5 stitches on a stitch holder.

I decided to use the Kitchener stitch to graph it together and you can’t tell which is the start and which is the end of the i-cord!

I just finished this bag. It is very stretchy and can be easily carried in any pocket while empty. It's great to put in veggies and fruit purchased at the market.
The instructions are easy to follow. I think it uses less yarn than a similar bag done in crochet.

I used some cotton yarn I had on hand so I didn’t get 5e kind of stretch I was expecting but I absolutely loved working this pattern and can’t wait to make a few in other colors!
