Are you familiar with our lovely alpaca yarn, Hobbii Soft Alpaca? It’s the same high quality and fabulous fiber, spun in the thinnest version. Soft Alpaca Lace is made from 100% alpaca from Peru. Wonderfully soft and very durable.

Soft Alpaca Lace is extra thin and fine, which makes it a superb choice for the more delicate knitting with lots of details. As the name suggests, it’s perfect for knitting lace when you want pretty and delicate lace designs. You’ll get an exquisite result if you use Soft Alpaca Lace for projects like an eyelet shawl. The result will be super light, but you’ll still find that it’s nice and warm since the fibers are hollow and isolating.

Our lace version is spun from the same type of raw yarn and fine fibers that we use for Hobbii Soft Alpaca, and the colors match. It gives you a whole new set of options to play around with the knitting tension and knitting with thinner needles. If you want to play around with different shades to create interesting colors, you can combine Soft Alpaca with lace in a different shade.

We also recommend that you try Soft Alpaca Lace as the second strand in combination with a wool yarn, perhaps as a replacement for mohair. Alpaca doesn’t shed like the smooth mohair fibers, and it’s also incredibly soft against your skin. You’ll get far with just a few skeins since this lace version has a running length of 400 meters per skein.

This is a beautiful rich purple, lace weight yarn. Very soft and silky feeling. It is not irritating at all to the skin and would be suitable for people with sensitive skin. It is one of the nicest feeling alpaca yarns I have ever used, and I have tried many different kinds. Definitely give it a try!

Cass

Wow. If you were holding off on this yarn, don’t! It is soft, silky soft and smooth. There is not a hint of itch/coarseness in the fibre. It is smooth and easy to work with and is so light weight. The colours are bold and full. You will not regret trying this yarn.

Gemma

Extremely soft and easy to crochet. I used a double strand with a 3mm crochet hook and the strands stayed together and didn’t tangle at all. Also terrific yard length for the price, excellent value.

Olivia

This is the perfect yarn for knitting delicate lace shawls. I am enjoying knitting a shawl with white Soft Alpaca Lace yarn. I highly recommend it for shawl projects.

Sharlene

Just got this. Got it in charcoal grey, and it's perfect for what I have planned. Great color, just as expected, and wonderfully soft.
