Highland Wool is a classic, lovely wool yarn spun from 100% very high quality wool and is the perfect choice if you don’t want to compromise.
The wool comes from the Peruvian highlands, which is one of the most remote parts of the world. A special cross between Merino and Corridale sheep thrive tremendously in the tough landscape - and the special climate and thin air makes it possible to produce a completely wonderful and unique type of wool.
Highland Wool is a light, soft wool yarn that easily absorbs moisture, keeping you nice and warm. The combination of the strong fibers and the exquisite softness lends itself to most projects. And the wool is durable enough to last for many years, even with frequent use.
Highland wool would look extra good in structural or jacquard knitting and is easy to work evenly. The yarn has a fine structure which is only enhanced by the beautiful color spectrum that both includes solid and mottled colors.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2476-419). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

When my order arrived, my first impression was that it was stiff and I wasn't sure if it would make a nice sweater. It felt stiff as I knitted it, too. But when I blocked it, it became really soft to the touch yet still retained good structure. I really like it against my skin. For reference, it's not as soft as the now discontinued Evergreen yarn (fingering weight organic merino wool), but very smooth compared to Mayflower Easycare Classic (DK weight superwash merino) and Cascade 220 (worsted weight Peruvian Highland Wool).
I've purchased 3 colors so far: Artichoke Melange, Stone, and Ash Tree Bark. All 3 colors are darker and less yellow in person than they are in the product photo. It's just as well that there isn't a wider color selection, because my stash is already too full.

First time purchasing the yarn and I used it for a crochet sweater. It was very easy to use and very soft working with it, and very good quality. The yarn became softer after blocking it and did stretch a little but not too much. It's very warm in a crochet sweater. (Curry is the color I got). Later I ordered four more balls two of two different colors and can't wait to work with them.

Considering this shipped from Denmark to the U.S. for me, it came surprisingly fast! This is my first time working with a wool blend and it is just lovely to knit with. I got Deep Navy and Autumn Leaf to make a scarf for my sister and the color combination is absolutely beautiful. This yarn may have convinced me to ditch acrylic forever and stick with Highland Wool. So good!!!

Just got my first order of Highland Wool that I got on discount with Bingo. (This is a lot of fun and great discounts each week) I could not wait to start a project with the Highland Wool. It is so soft and not scratchy at all. I am currently making a hat with Diablo Wild Print lace yarn added. So pretty and soft. I will definitely buy this yarn again.

This is my first purchase from Hobbi. Thankyou for the BlackFriday deal! I am making a felted beret from Night Sky and will post a picture when done. The felting (double strand) came out beautifully and now I am ordering another color to try a single strand beret. This is soft and easy to knit yarn.
