Mayflower Baby Alpaca is an extraordinarily lovely yarn quality consisting of 60% alpaca and 40% nylon. Combined, alpaca and nylon create a versatile yarn quality that can be used for many different types of knitting and crocheting projects. Alpaca is one of the most sought-after yarn fibers, and that’s not a coincidence.
Alpaca fibers are known for being extra warm and soft. In addition, alpaca wool has long fibers, which makes the yarn extra durable. In Mayflower Baby Alpaca, this durability is further enhanced by the nylon. You can use Mayflower Baby Alpaca for any type of clothing – including shawls, hats, and other accessories. The yarn has a perfect weight, letting it fall beautifully combined with irresistible softness and comfort. You have a wide selection of colors to choose from when it comes to Mayflower Baby Alpaca. It makes it easy to find your favorite color for your next knitting project.
The color depth is rich, which makes the result even more beautiful. Mayflower Baby Alpaca must be hand-washed and cannot handle a spin cycle. Typically, it’s better to “air out” clothes made with Alpaca instead of washing them. Mayflower Baby Alpaca consists of 60% alpaca and 40% nylon and runs 109 yards per 1.8 ounces. Use size 4 needles to achieve the best result. Knitting tension is 23 stitches x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm (3.9 x 3.9”).

I'm really picky about the yarn I use because I'm very tactile. I don't like wool unless it's superwashed because it's very scratchy.
I was a little concerned this would be scratchy but my son really wanted a hat made from alpaca. WOW! This yarn is so soft it's amazing. As I was having him try the hat on at various stages he oohed and aaaahed over how soft it is and how warm his head and ears will stay.
I would definitely use this yarn again and again.

Very soft! I am making Sweater no. 11 pattern with this yarn and Alpaca Blaze - the fabric is warm and soft. Using a Russian Join to join skeins together!

These are so soft! I love crocheting with them. They really glide over your hook. The colors are very saturated.
Amelia
Buttery soft and silky. Absolutely love how it works up. Hoping to buy more soon!
