A nice pattern for introducing mittens. With that said, I expect more detail for instructions for such a simple pattern (since it's kind of assumed to be a beginner project). The pattern doesn't talk about how to cast on new stitches above the thumb hole, for instance, so I had to consult another source. I do like the technique of using stranded colourwork to create the cuff, instead of traditional ribbing; very inventive!

Basic mitt pattern, easy to follow. I didn't use the cast on method for adding stitches for the thumb gusset, preferred to pull a piece of yarn from previous stitches. There are plenty of videos on the internet that help.

Because I am an experienced knitter, I was able to knit these "easy" mittens. This pattern lacks clarity and detail. The cuff instructions were confusing. I have done many Fair Isle patterns but thought this was some kind of new stitch! The thumb instructions were unclear. [knit stitches together 2and2?] ; "newly collected" stitches?
Once I figured out the pattern; I found it quick and easy. I like the end result and have knit 2 pairs. A novice knitter would be discouraged and likely unable to knit this mitten.

I found the instructions to complete the thumbs very confusing and I couldn't complete the mitten. I think for a beginner pattern there should have been more guidance and clearer instructions.
