Rowan Alpaca Classic is a wonderfully soft cotton tube with a loose ply and alpaca fibers sprouting from it. The loose ply makes this yarn a delight to work with- it is very supple. I knitted it with Karbonz needles and they handled beautifully well, though metal needles would also make this yarn a breeze to knit up. It gives you a very gentle halo, and it's warm, airy, and comfortable, without being scratchy. I wholeheartedly recommend it, especially given how affordable it is!

This yarn has a beautiful color and feel. There is no stretch in it and it's hard to split the yarn while crocheting. Overall happy with this yarn. I'd say while crocheting it feels more like a cotton yarn but the finished product has a soft texture like I'd expect from alpaca fibers.
