Dahlia is the perfect cake yarn with beautiful, long color changes. The four strands in Dahlia aren’t spun together, which gives the yarn its unique depth of color.
All color combinations in Dahlia are carefully composed to create the most beautiful look. The gradual color changes almost create a dip dye effect that really stands out in crocheted or knit shawls. However, the yarn is also perfect for other projects such as blankets, scarves, or clothes for children or adults.
Dahlia is made from 100% pure cotton and comes in large 7 oz (200 g) skeins, so you only need approx. one skein for a shawl. The soft cotton makes the yarn perfect for shawls, since cotton has a slight weight to it, which helps shawls drape beautifully when worn.
You can adjust the color transition yourself when working with Dahlia. The yarn was designed with an “easy start” from the middle of the yarn, but you can also give your project a different look by starting from the outside. It will shift the color change so that a yarn that changes from light to dark will instead change from dark to light.
Tip: You can make it easier to work with a four-strand yarn by running them through a small bead before using the yarn. That way, all four strands will stay neatly together while you work.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2076-311). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

What is there to say about Dahlia that hasn't already been said? I love everything about it. It's light and gorgeous, works up beautifully and is even fairly easy to frog. The stitch definition is stunning, and it looks incredible on my yarn wall. The colorways are mouth-watering, and when I look at my wheels of Dahlia I get so excited about the projects I'm going to make with them.
The transitions between colors are also very clear and so if I need to separate multiple wheels into their components to gradient a project correctly, I am absolutely able to. Overall, I'm just unbelievably impressed and thrilled with this fine cotton yarn.

Amazing colorways and pretty soft once worked up. I was nervous about this yarn being so loosely plied, but i use a bead to collect the threads together and it's worked great! It helps with yarn tension and control as well. I have had to frog a good amount of this (I didn't know extended double crochet was a different stitch than US treble... no wonder it looked odd!) and if you are gentle this frogs with zero issues. I just moved the bead to the beginning of the frogged yarn and kept going! I love that one cake is enough for a smaller wearable. The cake is also wound very well and hasn't gotten too wobbly or started to bottom out.

i originally used the dahlia cotton in one of the special Halloween colors. This untwisted yarn is easier to use than I thought it would be. I originally ran the strands through a bead as suggested, but after my second skein I found that to be unnecessary as I had gotten used to keeping it together with my non dominant hand. The color selections and combinations are gorgeous, and the number of available options is refreshing to see. This yarn works up soft with a nice drape. I look forward to making more projects with this yarn. And look forward to upcoming limited edition colors.

Works up beautifully! Seems identical to Sultan except in colors, so if you are familiar with that yarn, this will give the same results. I would say an 8/10 on softness scale when pulling it off the skein, but softens to a 9/10 with use (for scale 10/10 would be those fluffy sherpa blankets for me - which isn’t always what you want anyways). For me crocheting, the four strands stay together nicely and the yarn is surprisingly easy to work with for something so thin (as someone used to worsted or bulky weight previously).

My first time working with a yarn of this type and I loved it. I chose to put a bead on the strand before I started, as suggested to help keep the strands together. It worked beautifully and I never had any issue with separation. I was working on a filet crochet project and the yarn and colors worked just as I had hoped. The color changes are VERY gradual and perfect to create a lovely gradient effect. The colors are rich and lovely as well. I am sure to be ordering more soon.
