Wool is a 100% wool yarn with a distinctive rustic charm. This yarn stands out with its loosely spun nature, which preserves its natural aesthetic giving Wool its distinctive character with a slight variation in thickness. The wool used to produce this yarn is sourced from South America and therefore mulesing-free.
Wool’s color palette is classical and full of neutrals, without lacking some brighter and more contrasted hues. Ideal for a wide range of creative endeavors with a pair of 6 mm (US 10) knitting needles or a 7 mm (US K-10.5) crochet hook. Think of toasty afghans, jumpers, and cardigans: both if you are working with solid colors, stripes, or an intricate intarsia pattern. It can also be felted, hence you can also craft slippers, mittens, bags, pillow covers, and other home décor projects. The felting capability opens up a myriad of possibilities for both practical and decorative pieces, ensuring that your projects not only look good but also offer enhanced warmth and durability.
With its unexpected texture, Wool will make your project one-of-a-kind.
Woolpower has been rebranded into our Wool family. The product and the colors are exactly the same, it is just the label that has a new, fun look. Please bear with us while we phase out the stock with the older label.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I used this for my very first learn to knit project, a simple garter stitch scarf, and it was easy to work with. The yarn has a lovely halo when knitted up. The thickness of the yarn varies from thin to thick throughout the skein, but surprisingly, my finished stitches looked uniform. It has a very subtle, pleasant wool scent. I highly recommend this yarn for beginners to start with. Years ago I tried and failed at learning how to knit, but had the wrong tools (slippery metal knitting needles and acrylic yarn). Learning how to knit with Happy Sheep Woolpower worsted weight and birch knitting needles made it so much easier.

I really, really love this wool! I'm currently knitting a sweater out of this and it is so soft. I have made the body and one arm and sadly ran out so I'm eagerly awaiting my next package. I bought the oat which wasn't exactly like the photo but that wasn't a problem because it's a really lovely colour. The oat has more purple/dusty pink tones to it than in the photo. What I love about this wool is that you can really tell its authentic because every now and then I come across tiny pieces of straw which must of been stuck in the sheep's coat! This is the perfect wool for anything soft and cozy, love it!

I was happily surprised by this wool. I was worried about the texture for such a well priced yarn, but I'm impressed by how soft it is. I wouldn't make baby clothes from it, but it works will for winter accessories for teens and adults. Maybe it's due to the way it's spun loosely, the texture in in between a roving and a classic yarn. It's a thick worsted yarn, so it works up super fast, which I love. I've wet felted one project made with this yarn, which worked really well. I am worried that over time any project made with this would felt, so beware

So, I just finished the Freya sweater this week, so I have no idea how the yarn will wear, as in pilling or not. It is wonderful to knit with. Plus, I knit nearly the ENTIRE sweater between a 2-hour car ride to the airport, waiting to board on two flights, going through immigration and customs, and 13 hours on two planes. It felt really good, as I never can sleep on flights. My daughter will love her "treat" resulting from my frustration in being in packed quarters at airports...like most folks, I knit faster when upset.

I bought two colors, Natural White and Teal and really like how they look and feel. They knitted up really easily, and the knits look tidy despite the 'raw' yarn. I made two sweaters with them, and they feel soft against the skin, it doesn't feel itchy. I'm not sure how they will hold up with day to day wear and how well will they withstand washing, I'd have to provide feedback again if it doesn't last. But fingers crossed that they do!
