I just finished a crochet bag with the 8x18. It took me ages to work out how to get the initial stitches sorted, I ended up putting 3 DC into each hole. That worked ok. The wood seems to be sturdy enough to carry about 5kg.

I really like these. I made cotton crocheted bags using worsted cotton held doubled, and it worked out very well, one in each of the three sizes. I've since ordered more, since I really like how they turned out.
