PATTERN INFORMATION
I love symmetry! I find it soothing and it helps me relax my mind. So, hereโ€™s a piece that is worked from the center, forming a unique symmetrical pattern.

This is not a beginnersโ€™ pattern, but Iโ€™ve tried to add as much detail as possible and step-by-step pictures for every row. Keeping the stitch count is really important with this kind of project, so Iโ€™ve added the stitch count to every row as well.

Please note: This pattern is bought as a downloadable PDF. Itโ€™s not sent as a physical product.

I am going to give this pattern 5 stars and here is why. This is not a beginner pattern, however, I found that the steps are explained with instructions, photos and diagrams. I usually follow the diagrams in patterns like these. There are some complicated stitches like BPDC ch1 BPDC in the same stich... not super hard but awkward for a beginner. There are some special stiches like picot, bubble and a couple of other ones and these stitches are also clearly explained. I was hesitant about the size.. finished unblocked shawl was 18" wide. The pattern opened after blocking to 22" which is close enough for me. The length ended up 200cm as stated in the instructions. One thing though.. that metalic thread.... that took a while to tame.

This pattern is beautiful but I'm on my 3rd work through of it. I had to undo it the first time because it wasn't 23 inches. Then I undid it a second time because the stitches weren't lining up. I wish there was a better picture of the triangle area that showed the progress with them because that would have been super beneficial for me to be able to see and the only one requires zooming in or half of it is cut off. I also think there could have been more notes about what the row is doing - "this row, we are dropping a triangle and it will look like this". I honestly think it's beautiful but the pattern needs some work and I am struggling with it to where I want to quit doing it because some of it doesn't make sense. I'm supposed to have a certain number of the triangles and I do but I didn't do the one part the amount of times that was said, I did it one less time. I don't even know how to explain the many issues I've had with this pattern.

This shawl is so pretty but so far I'm so frustrated that I'm wishing I could go back in time and NOT take a commission for it. How can my gauge be slightly larger and yet the width of the shawl be SEVERAL inches short? Okay, go up a hook size. Gauge is a little larger yet width is still several inches short. Decided to press on, which was definitely a mistake because all I can do is panic over how not wide this shawl is because the goal here is not to make a scarf. I should frog back and ignore gauge for width, but the metallic thread is a nightmare and I worry about running out of yarn and the dreaded dye lot. I just need someone to give me the secret to getting a 23-inch wide shawl please ๐Ÿ˜ญI'm not a tight crocheter and I don't understand why this is so off.
