It all started with a cotton mesh tube hugging some lovely wool and acrylic fibers inside of it, this is how we created Portobello

Portobello is a Made in Italy yarn with a chainette structure. The loose fibers are blown into the hollow tube and slightly stick out of the mesh, which gives the yarn volume and a bit of fluff.

The always off-white cotton tube creates an elegant contrast with the brighter or more subtle colors of the loose fibers.

This yarn will keep you warm but fresh thanks to the cotton and the projects created with it will be lightweight and soft thanks to its structure. Portobello can be worked with 4 mm knitting needles (US 6) and 5 mm (US H-8) crochet hook. It will be a great option for beginners as its structure will prevent the yarn from splitting.

Need some inspiration? We recommend taking advantage of Portobello’s softness by making cozy pullovers, vests, sweaters, and scarves both for adults and children.

We are sure that Portobello will blow your mind.

I had so much fun working with this yarn - just finished a granny cluster pullover in the color 88 (colors are gorgeous and I love that it's not just one solid color) and it has such a nice fuzzy halo around it. It holds it shape really well after being washed, didn't stretch out as much as I thought it would with it being primarily cotton. I had to frog it once and didn't have much difficulty with snagging which was a nice surprise!

I usually don't use wool yarn because it usually is very itchy but I decided to give it a shot because it was a blend of mostly cotton and I'm glad I did! I really love the texture of it and it's not too itchy in my hands. I love the colors and the mottled like patterns. I got the Misty green (113),Turkish Blue (88), Antique Rose (53), and Light Purple (68) and they look so good together! can't wait to but more!

I made the beautiful sweater with the Cotton Candy Dot sweater pattern by Wool Cuddles.
It was my first crochet clothing project for my almost 2 year old and he keeps running around now saying sweater cozy sweater cozy. I slightly changed the colors so it looks more like a blue sky with small stars but the pattern was so easy and the yarn is so wonderful to work with and the colors are amazing. I am so happy

Leia

This yarn is so soft and pretty, I couldn't wait to put it to use. I combined 2 colors to make a sweater. It worked up well and fast. The yarn doesn't split as it seems like kind of a tube structure inside. The halo is a bit catchy as you're working with it if you have dry skin or a ragged nail edge. But I really liked the end product made from it.

Autumn

Soft and plush! It's very easy to knit with and has held up to multiple froggings. Currently knitting a raglan sweater with it and one skein has gotten me a lot further than I thought. Will update once the sweater is finished to comment on wearability/next to skin softness but so far no complaints.
