Dahlia Mixo is a beautiful cake yarn with a funky play of colors. The yarn consists of four thin cotton strands in four different colors. Each color runs through the entire skein, which creates a really pretty play of colors with an exciting depth to the shades.
The four strands in Dahlia Mixo aren’t spun together, which gives the yarn its unique depth of color. When you knit or crochet with the yarn, the colors will vary and create a beautiful and vivid play of colors throughout your project.
With the many different color combinations, some offer a large contrast between the four strands, creating an explosion of colors, while other skeins have more discreet colors. But what they all have in common is that the colors of the four strands are well-balanced and complement each other.
Dahlia Mixo can be used for clothes, blankets, and accessories. The yarn is made from 100% lovely and soft cotton, making it perfect for the warmer months, since cotton fibers don’t retain as much heat as, e.g., wool does. Use Dahlia Mixo for projects like a cute summer blouse or a nice shawl. The soft cotton has a little bit of weight to it, which gives things like shawls a nice drape and enhances your beautiful handiwork.
You can easily mix Mixo with other cotton cake yarns - giving you lots of opportunities for exciting combinations.
Tip: You can make it easier to work with four strands by running them through a small bead before use. That way, the strands are held together and will stay together while you work.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2076-311). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I wasn't sold on the effect of the yarn when I first saw it in person, but it grew on me - it has this kind of "noise" effect when crocheted that doesn't lend itself well to detailed openwork but makes a great in-between to make more intricate solid colour parts of the shawl I'm making. It really makes the other half of the design (crocheted with the regular Dahlia) pop!
As for the feel of the yarn itself, it makes a truly lovely light, cool fabric that I cannot wait to drape over my shoulders this summer.
Only actual issue I've had is that I did encounter a split thread, but considering I'm halfway through a Forest Fruit cake at the moment I'd say one split thread out of a combined 1600 m of thread isn't too bad!

I have purchased this yarn in Soft Sunrise and Candyfloss and I am so impressed with it! I have made a few different garments from it and being a plus size woman, I’m always looking for yarn that will hold its structure better. This stuff does not disappoint! It has wonderful stitch definition and it also works great if you want to add fringe to a top due to it being made up of individual threads that aren’t spun together. Beginners may find it difficult to work with because of how easily you can drop a thread but I have to say that I think the little bit of extra hassle there is absolutely worth it. I will be buying this again for sure!

I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this yarn! I chose it because I loved the color (10 Outer Space), but I was a bit worried it would be difficult to work with. I was incredibly relieved by how easy it was to use (though the pattern I was following largely worked in chain spaces so that might have helped). I made a flowery mesh sweater with the yarn and it was the perfect material for a spring/summer/fall sweater. I definitely recommend it!

This was my first experience using cotton yarn and also yarn this thin. I had also never used yarn that was 4 stands not twisted together. I saw someone say to add a small bead to help keep them in line. I had no issues! This turned me on to smaller weigh yarn and non twisted yarn. I loved how the color worked up. I made a shawl for a charity auction for a cat rescue and it went for $100!

Love this yarn! I ordered 4 different colors to make shawls and small tops for kiddos. Currently working on the granny Hobbii shawl pattern with the "Soft Sunrise" color and it is just such a treat to work with. I did the small bead thing to help keep the threads together as I crochet and it works beautifully. Hard to put down to leave it long enough to fix a meal...
