Easy, simple beginner friendly pattern. My gauge got a bit larger as I knit (15.5sts/10cm) instead of 17sts/10cm, so my scarf was 10.5 inches wide. As a result I needed 2 extra skeins to finish the stripes in the middle section. I actually like the additional width, but itโs better to keep pattern gauge for a denser, squishier fabric. This pattern requires a ton of weaving in ends on each color stripe.

I try to learn a new knitting skill with each item I make. I mastered the "magic knot" method of joining yarn while knitting this scarf and it really made all the difference. I figured out to start the join with 3 or stitches remaining in the last row so that the knot was not right at the end of a row.
