Beautiful color gradients on a wonderfully soft yarn. For Sunbird, we have selected a coordinating palette of muted colors in a hand-dyed look. The colors flow into each other in a single long gradient, so the sections are about the same length as you work your way through the skein.

Sunbird is spun from a premium anti-pilling acrylic that is soft, smooth, and easy to work with. You will notice it doesn’t pill to the same degree as some acrylic tends to do.

Create lovely crocheted or knitted blouses, blankets, scarves, and so on. The yarn has enough weight to give the finished object a beautiful drape.

The yarn is spun from a so-called anti-pilling acrylic. This type of fiber is constructed in a special way that makes the fibers less likely to pill, like acrylic usually does. Anti-pilling is neither a treatment nor a process added to the yarn; the difference is in the construction of the special fiber material that the yarn is spun from.

Butterfly has been rebranded into Sunbird. The product and the colors are exactly the same, it is just the label that has a new, fun look. Please bear with us while we phase out the stock with the older label.

Please note that the colors may have rubbed off on each other during the dyeing process. There can be small speckles of darker color on the lighter colors in the skein. This is perfectly normal and will add a dashing effect to your finished project.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I am using this yarn to make an blanket with 25 different stitches. The yarn is very soft and easy to work with. My stitch work is well defined and I can easily see the pattern in it. I am not finished yet, but I wonder if this is the best yarn for a blanket but I think it might make a nice bed cover for decoration and not warmth. I will update when I have completed my blanket. However, I am thinking this yarn might be great for summer top or a lightweight sweater.

When they say premium acrylic they don't lie! This yarn has beautiful, steadfast colors, a gorgeous drape and shein and has such a lovely squish to it. I bought 2 skeins on a whim just to try them out and fell in love. I haven't found anything to compare. My only conplaint is that they don't sell it in bigger skeins. I am now on a quest to buy them all. I 100% recommend this yarn to anyone for a nice squishy blanket or a shawl with great drape to elevate any outfit.

This yarn is delightfully soft and wonderful to work with. I have made two blankets and a bandanna cowl using this Butterfly yarn and love the results of each. The blankets are so soft and squishy, and very nice to cuddle up under. The colour gradients in the Morpho and Holly Blue made a nice wide stripe pattern in the blankets. The Banana cowl is very cozy and warm around the neck and not at all itchy. I love this yarn and definitely plan to use it again.

Vanessa

I like how it transitions. It’s a breeze to work with. I doubled the yarn to make a worsted weight as that’s what my pattern calls for. I wish I could show how it works up but I like it. Id recommend it. Only thing I’d say I haven’t loved is that the fibers aren’t tightly woven so when I’ve had to detangle sometimes it splits kinda easy. Only thing I haven’t enjoyed but it’s not been a huge problem once it’s crocheted in.

Sandra

I am using this yarn to crochet a blanket it is nice and easy to work with the colors are vibrant and the combinations are exactly what I was searching for. In fact why I started purchasing from Hobbi. So glad I did the product is made in Turkey and I feel makes my project have an exotic aura to it for a girl from Canada. A beautiful and soft heirloom for my Daughter. will send a picture in the future
