Metallico Fine is an incredible yarn; a real showstopper with its beautiful, shiny thread with an elegant, satin shine. The yarn consists of a core made from polyamide, surrounded by a fluffy, lightly brushed mix of merino wool and soft acrylic.

Metallico Fine is a thinner version of Hobbii Metallico, and the thin strand gives you lots of options in your creative endeavors. It can be used on its own for fine and light knit and crochet. But imagine how perfect it could be when combined with other yarns. For example, when knit or crocheted with a thin and fine lace yarn like Kid Silk, Diablo, or Alpaca Blaze. There are lots of shelves to choose from and endless possibilities when it comes to creating beautiful color combinations, where you’ll add extra fluffiness and shades of color to a base of the beautiful and shiny Metallico.

Metallico Fine doesn’t itch, and the beautiful mix adds an exclusive touch to everything from a simple sweater to cute accessories. Use it for things like elegant edges to your knitwear, or combine the colors in a fabulous, striped sweater. The shine in the yarn can lift a very simple design into the extraordinary.

It’s also ideal to experiment with two or more strands of Metallico and Metallico Fine on larger needles. The yarn is still light, and the colors are, considering slight color variations, the same in the two thicknesses. By using several strands, you may be able to adjust the knitting tension to fit your favorite pattern.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (nr. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I am obsessed with any yarn that sparkles, so obviously I jumped on this one (as well as the thicker version). Compared to regular metallico, the fine weight one has more of a halo so the metallic effect is more subtle once stitched, but it is still very obviously metallic. It GLOWS. If you have dry hands or even a flake of loose skin on your cuticle, this yarn will catch on it so it might not be great for those with sensory issues around yarn. I love it with a size 6mm hook for a loose, airy shawl. I'm desperate for more colors like a yellow gold or orange copper since I want to use it for every project. The pearl color isn't as metallic as the others, which have a gleam of color through the halo (moss agate is gorgeous), but once worked up it glows like a pearl.

First of all, let me say how SOFT this yarn is. You might expect something metallic to feel uncomfortable, but this is truly heavenly. Second, I'm going to talk a bit about shrinkage. I don't want to mislead anyone (because your project may end up differently). But! I made up a swatch, hand-washed it in hot water, and popped it into the dryer on high heaf for half an hour. I did this to see what the worst case scenario of shrinking would be. Lo and behold, NADA. It didn't shrink AT ALL. The measurements were exactly the same. Maybe there's some obvious reason for this that I'm not aware of, but for anyone else who was wondering desperately if this shrinks due to the wool, I say: Be cautiously optimistic, my friend, that it does not!

Love this yarn. The color is super saturated, the yarn is very soft, not scratchy at all, and the metallic sheen is the perfect amount, not too bright or muted. I started off ordering 2 different colors, and after receiving my 1st order, decided to order 3 additional colors for the project I've decided to make. I will say I don't recommend this yarn for a beginner to crochet or knitting, as it does stick to itself, and can be difficult to undo stitches. But the possibilities for beautiful pieces are endless with this beautiful yarn.

The photos don’’t do this yarn justice. I ordered the sky blue and when it arrived the subtle gold throughout it added so much beauty. The super soft and the fine weight option of this yarn comes with plenty of yardage in one skein to complete a hat or a scarf/cowl. I am making a beautiful cowl and it’s coming together so nicely. It’s going to be a cozy, soft, light weight scarf that you will want to bury your face in. This yarn would cost me 3x more in Canada at the specialty shops. I was so happy to discover Hobbii.

I grabbed this yarn in the Tahitian Green colour and I'm SO glad I did! It's incredibly soft and has a luxurious sheen to it! I can see having potential problems if you need to repeatedly frog a project as the fiber seems very delicate (and kind of sticky?), but I haven't had any problems myself. I would highly recommend this if you're looking for something metallic that doesn't have that harsh scratchy feel you'd expect from a metallic yarn. :)
