Just received yesterday. Honestly, you get what you pay for. They are mostly smooth aluminum, but the tips aren't smooth. I haven't had the chance to use them yet, but I use acrylic yarn and know it'll catch if the tips touch it. Naturally I'm a crocheter and have had similar experiences with cheap hooks snagging on my yarn. I took a chance on these and this is my honest opinion. Will probably use my knitters pro and buy more of those in the future. I appreciate hobbii making cheaper alternatives to the dpn's of more expensive brands for those like me who want to try them out and learn new things, but the quality is needed to keep people into the crafts.
