3rd Sunday of Advent - Crochet - Snowdrop - Kerchief

MEASUREMENTS

Width: 103 cm / 40.5”

Length: 60 cm / 23.5”

PATTERN INFORMATION

Liven up a chilly winter day with the beauty and elegance of the Snowdrop Kerchief. This mini-shawl gets its charm from a beginner-friendly crochet lace pattern worked from the bottom up. The arched picot border is the perfect finishing touch. Style your kerchief as a scarf with a belted trench coat, or tie it in your hair as a bandana for a whimsical addition to your everyday outfit.

Susan

This pattern is written in a way that makes it appear harder than it is. It explains in detail the first 10 rows but really, I got what's going on well before that. There's essentially two types of rows: shell rows, and foundation rows for the shells to build onto. Once you figure this out, you can do the rest of the kerchief without even looking at the instructions. It's a very pretty pattern, light and airy looking. You really could keep going with this and make a very big shawl if you use a yarn that isn't as stretchy as the Merino that's suggested.

Iris

I love the scarf. Making him was easy when I used the video tutorial. It looks like I did crochet tighter, so my scarf is a bit smaller. I was worried running out off yarn, but I can make a little tassle if I want.

Amber

It looks bigger in the photos. I didn’t like how small it was so I bought an extra skein to add on to it.

Louisa

Nice pattern and nice shawl, but ran out of yarn with 23 pickets left to do. Such a pity. Will have to figure out a different way of ending this pretty shawl off with less yarn.

Julia

I ran out of yarn with this shawl. I only had enough yarn for the 25 shell rows and the set up border row.
My first ball of yarn was very good but my second ball had multiple splits and a knot where I guess it had to be put together.
The shawl is very pretty and was fun to make but I was very disappointed with the second ball of yarn and not having enough yarn to make the final two rows of the pretty border.
I will include the picture in the photo tab since I don’t see an option to do it here.
