Knit Festive Christmas Sweaters for the Whole Family

Knit Festive Christmas Sweaters for the Whole Family

Christmas is just around the corner. 🎄 So, it's about time to knit a festive sweater for yourself or someone you adore. 🥰 May we suggest the gorgeous Lucia Sweater from JoJo Knitwear?

Dreaming of matching outfits with your kiddos or grandkids this holiday season? Then stick around as we dive into the brand-new Nordic Christmas knitting patterns from JoJo Knitwear. 🎄✨

Ane Kofod, the creative mind behind JoJo Knitwear, has designed an elegant and classic sweater in both adult and child sizes. This is your chance to knit matching outfits for yourself and your mini!

Matchy-matchy! Knit this cozy sweater for both kids and adults

Ane has designed the Lucia Sweater with the idea that it can be knitted for both little ones and grown-ups. That's why the pattern comes in sizes for children (ages 2-12) and adults/women (XS-3XL).

"The Lucia Sweater is the perfect mother-and-child design for the holiday season," Ane explains. "I wanted to create a pattern that both kids and adults would love—a sweater that could be worn not just at Christmas, but throughout the year."

The sweater is knitted using one strand of Divina together with one strand of Friends Kid Silk or Soft Alpaca Lace. If you're curious about what these combos create, we can spill the beans: your sweater will be as soft and airy as a cloud.

"Knitting with one strand of Divina and one strand of Soft Alpaca Lace is a favorite combo of mine,” Ane says. “It's so soft and delightful!"

An enchanting lace pattern inspired by holiday traditions

Knit from the top down on circular needles, this sweater features a delicate lace pattern on the yoke, created using a chart. And there's something extra special behind that beautiful yoke design:

"The Christmas wreath was my inspiration for this design," Ane shares. "It felt natural to place a textured pattern around the yoke—as a nod to the circular wreath, a traditional holiday decoration."

"In Denmark, we have the Advent wreath—and in many other countries, people also decorate with Christmas wreaths during the holidays. I learned that the four candles in the Advent wreath symbolize hope, peace, joy, and love. To me, that's the heart of the holiday season."

The sweater's name also holds a special meaning, Ane tells us:

"It's named after Santa Lucia, whom we celebrate on December 13th. She wears a wreath on her head with four candles, so it seemed just right to name the collection Lucia."

Knit the sweater in your favorite color—or in two colors!

If you'd like to knit the sweater with two colors, the pattern includes recommended yarn amounts for a two-colored version—whether you choose to knit with Divina and Soft Alpaca Lace, or Divina and Friends Kid Silk.

Ane adds, "I think this pattern is perfect for knitting in your favorite color, especially if you've already made the Christmas version."
