Tencel Bamboo Extra Fine is a delicate and soft yarn with a silky sheen.
The yarn is in a league of its own and feels amazing in your hands when you’re knitting or crocheting.
It is, as the name suggests, an extra fine thread that’s strong and keeps its shape.
Tencel Bamboo Extra Fine only consists of 2 strands. We can compare it to its slightly thicker sister-yarn, Tencel Bamboo Fine, which consists of 12 strands, and Tencel Bamboo Double which consists of 18 strands. We’re talking a really fine and thin thread here.
The thin thread can be worked on its own, but it’s also a great yarn to use with other amazing yarns. You could, for example, use it with Deli Mohair from Go Handmade and make the most incredible sweaters (see video)!
If you want to work double-stranded with Tencel Bamboo Extra Fine, you’ll achieve a gauge of 28 - 30 m = 10 cm
Information about 'Tencel materials':
What is it?
Tencel is an organic and sustainable natural material made from wood chips, primarily from beech trees and eucalyptus. The wood is FSC-certified and comes from the natural thinning of wood and leftovers from other wood production.
Tencel is the most sustainable material manufactured under outstanding environmental considerations.
The uniqueness of Tencel.
The combination of fibers from beech trees and eucalyptus makes the Tencel material incredibly comfortable. The smooth texture of the fibers makes the yarn softer than silk and nicer on the skin than wool or cotton, and it’s also incredibly absorbent.
The thread may be spun slightly looser in some areas, which is part of the tread’s natural character. The finished results are exquisite.
Children will love the Tencel Bamboo yarn!
It will be hard to find another yarn that’s as gentle on your skin as Tencel Bamboo – children will definitely be excited about how it feels.

This yarn is soooo soft and shiny, would definitely recommend working in double strand or together with a fluffy yarn. A bit slippery with metal needles as expected so I'd recommend knitting with wooden ones. Overall really really pretty yarn to work with!

I love this yarn! It's shiny and a bit heavier since it's bamboo. It was perfect for a flowy summer top and also for a necktie I knit. Very versatile and just lovely!
