PATTERN INFORMATION
This slipover vest is knit top-down and features a striped colourwork design. The design has about 7.5cm / 3” of positive ease.
First, the back yoke is knit flat. Then stitches are picked up along the shoulders and worked flat for the front yoke. Begin the colourwork while doing the armhole increases. You then join in the round to knit the rest of the body, continuing the colourwork. To finish, stitches are picked up around the neckline for a folded collar and around the armholes for a ribbed edge. The simple and repetitive colourwork has manageable, short floats. Please note that colourwork is worked flat for the section where the armhole increases are worked.
Techniques: long tail cast on, backward loop cast on, knit, purl, make 1 right, make 1 left, pick up and knit, stranded colourwork. The pattern includes charts for the colourwork.
