Ydun - Hat
The hat is worked in the round on a circular needle with the magic loop technique. When working the rib edge, alternate between knitting 1 stitch and purling 1 stitch. The crown is worked in a cable pattern.

This was my first advent knitting pattern. When I saw that it was made on circular needles I thought: ah, project from hell. But I am not one to back away from a challenge and so off I went to get some circular needles. I don't like using them mostly because I lack experience. After fighting with it for three rounds it got better and progressed nicely. The pattern is lovely and the instructions are easy to follow. The end got a bit tricky and I switched to shorter needles - not a good decision in hindsight. The hat turned out nicely and looks just like the one in the picture. It was a great learning experience and I am glad I did it.
