WeCare - Fruit Net - Large

Be kind to the environment and make a couple of lovely WeCare mesh fruit nets

Replace the plastic bags in the fresh produce aisle with this beautiful and simple WeCare mesh fruit net.

The WeCare fruit net is designed to take up minimal space, while at the same time being very roomy and easy to use. The net comes in two sizes. This is the larger version, and can contain up to 10 pieces of loose fruit.

It's crocheted in Rainbow Lace, a thin, mercerised cotton. An extra strong yarn that is perfect for this project.

Rainbow Lace comes in a multitude of wonderful colors, and a single ball is enough to complete two WeCare fruit nets.

Have fun making!

I’m a knitter but can crochet easy things, using my crochet stitch cheat-sheet (yup, real newbie). I have several crochet hooks, from teeny-tiny to jumbo, but “of course” no 2.5 mm… The closest I have are 2 mm and 3 mm so I opted for the 2 mm. It’s working out just fine.
This project is super beginner friendly! I put a marker to the front of my work, to make sure I wouldn’t accidentally turn it and crochet in the wrong direction! 😋 And I mark the beginning of each row, of course.
It’s looking lovely in Lime Green and I foresee making quite a few of these 😁

Whow, that bag went quick. I managed to get this done in a few hours last night. I used a wild mixture of left over yarns and ended up with a nice bag.
I made 1 alternation - I added 2 handles - each spanning across 6 "rings" using 40 chains worked over by 40 DCs. Now you can easier carry the net better.

Super simple and works up fast! I used Aunt Lydias crochet thread and it came out great, it folds up nicely to store away in my other grocery bags when not in use, and it can hold quite a bit.

Cut pattern. Really easy. I really like the end result. I've already started a second version with alterations so I can make an even larger bag. Thanks Hobbii!

It looks great and will come in very handy. I used some yarn I had lying around, no Hobbii yarn, and it worked out great.
