This pattern was relatively easy if you have amigurumi experience. Shaping the face was new to me, which took trial and error because I didn't use safety eyes (not recommended for small children) and those instructions weren't clear to me. The ears ended up large so next time I would remove round 4 or reduce my hook by one or two sizes. I already had them sewed on when I realized I would have liked them smaller. It was a quick make I would do again. I used baby velvet for the bear, and a cotton I had on hand for the piece around the wood and sewing it together.

This is adorable. The pattern is well written and easy to follow. My one concern is recommending using safety eyes. As anyone with a young child can attest babies get into everything. And ironically safety eyes aren’t actually safe. Posts can snap, incorrectly sized washers can come off. Honestly there’s a dozen different ways safety eyes can break or come apart. At which point you have a chocking hazard with a lovely sharp end. Far better to embroider your own eyes on. Or get some of the felt ones you can sew or glue on.
