Are you familiar with our lovely alpaca yarn, Soft Alpaca? It’s the same high quality and fabulous fiber, spun in the thinnest version. Soft Alpaca Lace is made from 100% alpaca from Peru. Wonderfully soft and very durable.
Soft Alpaca Lace is extra thin and fine, which makes it a superb choice for more delicate knitting with lots of details. As the name suggests, it’s perfect for knitting lace when you want pretty and delicate lace designs. You’ll get an exquisite result if you use Soft Alpaca Lace for projects like an eyelet shawl. The result will be super light, but you’ll still find that it’s nice and warm since the fibers are hollow and isolating.
Our lace version is spun from the same type of raw yarn and fine fibers that we use for Hobbii Soft Alpaca, and the colors match. It gives you a whole new set of options to play around with the knitting tension and knitting with thinner needles. If you want to play around with different shades to create interesting colors, you can combine Soft Alpaca with lace in a different shade.
We also recommend that you try Soft Alpaca Lace as the second strand in combination with wool yarn, perhaps as a replacement for mohair. Alpaca doesn’t shed like the smooth mohair fibers, and it’s also incredibly soft against your skin. You’ll get far with just a few skeins since this lace version has a running length of 400 meters per skein.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2476-419). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

Incredibly soft and durable, with fantastic yardage. The colors are scrumptious, and the pics on the site are right on. An overall great value - I think it might actually be the best every day deal on the net for alpaca.
At this price, or even better, on sale, holding it double with an inexpensive wool will elevate any project without adding weight.
I went all in and paired it with Winter Glow for a ski sweater -fabulous!! I've also held it double with cake yarns like Twister. The drape, color, warmth, and softness are exquisite...
I buy some nearly every time I order.

This yarn is lovely! The colors are every bit as vibrant and nuanced as I hoped. I'm knitting double-stranded on 4.00mm circular needles, and even with knitting and frogging several trial swatches with the same yarn, there has been no splitting! The color work is turning out beautifully and the yarn is a delight to work with. This is a very soft, slightly fuzzy yarn, so stitch definition is gentle rather than sharp.

This is a beautiful rich purple, lace weight yarn. Very soft and silky feeling. It is not irritating at all to the skin and would be suitable for people with sensitive skin. It is one of the nicest feeling alpaca yarns I have ever used, and I have tried many different kinds. Definitely give it a try!

Wow. If you were holding off on this yarn, don’t! It is soft, silky soft and smooth. There is not a hint of itch/coarseness in the fibre. It is smooth and easy to work with and is so light weight. The colours are bold and full. You will not regret trying this yarn.

Super soft yarn and can be held together with another yarn for a warmer finished object. I purchased the color Cappuccino (44) to hold together with Alpaca Silk in the color Dakar Dust (03). It's not an exact match, but very close.
