Elm Headband
A lovely, woollen headband
A fabulous headband knitted in Highland Wool. It is perfect for those cold days when you want to wear your hair up.
The headband is knitted in double thread with a staggered rib pattern.
Here you can easily and quickly buy everything needed for this pattern.

It is a very simple pattern and good for beginners - as long as they know their knit and purls. It can be done with any type of yarn, but the width (number of stitches) and the length need to be adjusted to fit the user. This may be a great pattern to explain how to translate from a sample square to the number of stitches needed.

A very easy pattern! It's very good for those who are just starting or who are picking it back up and it's been I while.
Jenna
Great pattern and cute result!

Easy pattern, but not good if this is your very first knit project because the instructions can be vague for a very new knitter. For example, the pattern does not specify how to slip the first stitches of each row (knit-wise or purl-wise, with yarn in front or back), nor how to cast off, nor how to sew the two ends together. Also, the width of the finished piece is much more than 1 inch. It's about 4-5 inches.

A very simple pattern for beginners! This is a great knitting project for beginners to get used to switching between knit and purl stitches, although a reference photo for how to sew it together could be helpful. I love the texture the alternating pattern creates, and I'm so happy with how my headband turned out!
